Identification of a mannoprotein present in the inner layer of the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Cell wall extracts from the double-mutant mnn1 mnn9 strain were used as the immunogen to obtain a monoclonal antibody (MAb), SAC A6, that recognizes a specific mannoprotein--which we have named Icwp--in the walls of cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Icwp runs as a polydisperse band of over 180 kDa in sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis of Zymolyase extracts of cell walls, although an analysis of the secretory pattern of the mannoprotein shows that at the level of secretory vesicles, it behaves like a discrete band of 140 kDa. Bifurcations of links of periodic orbits in non-singular Morse - Smale systems on

The set of periodic orbits of a non-singular Morse - Smale (NMS) flow on defines a link; a characterization of all possible links of NMS flows on has been developed by Wada. In the frame of codimension-one bifurcations, this characterization allows us to study the restrictions a link requires for suffering a given bifurcation. We also derive the topological description of the new link and the possibility of relating links by a chain of this type of bifurcation.

Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have received significant attention in recent years in the areas of biomedical and environmental applications. Among them, mixed metal MOFs, although promising, are relatively few in number in comparison with their homometallic analogues. The employment of benzophenone-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid (bphdcH2) in mixed metal MOF chemistry provided access to a 3D MOF, [Na2Zn(bphdc)2(DMF)2]n (NUIG1).
