Comparison of Electromyographic Activity During Hip Extension Exercises Under Gravitational or Inertial Loading Conditions.

2021

Background: Hamstring injury prevention programs include strengthening, especially eccentric exercises using both gravitational and inertial loading. Inertial exercises are characterized by eccentric contractions of high intensity and velocity. This study aimed to analyze the muscular activation of the biceps femoris (BF), semitendinosus (ST), gluteus maximus (GM), and gracilis (GC) muscles during hip extension (HE) exercises performed under both gravitational and inertial loading conditions. Hypothesis: Inertial training would generate a greater activation of HE muscles than gravitational training. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Level of Evidence: Level 4. Methods: Fifteen resistance…

Correlation between longitudinal strain analysis and coronary microvascular dysfunction in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fracti…

2020

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate in patients with microvascular angina and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, the speckle-tracking echocardiography, and longitudinal myocardial strain to evaluate the possible presence of alterations in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction patients compared with a control population. We also investigated the correlation between the longitudinal strain analysis and the TIMI frame count after coronary angiography. Methods: Our study was performed on a population 41 patients with microvascular angina that underwent coronary angiography and speckle-tracking echocardiography. We divided the sample into two categories: patien…

Evidence-based development of school-based and family-involved prevention of overweight across Europe: The ENERGY-project's design and conceptual fra…

2010

Background There is an urgent need for more carefully developed public health measures in order to curb the obesity epidemic among youth. The overall aim of the "EuropeaN Energy balance Research to prevent excessive weight Gain among Youth" (ENERGY)-project is the development and formative evaluation of a theory-informed and evidence-based multi-component school-based and family-involved intervention program ready to be implemented and evaluated for effectiveness across Europe. This program aims at promoting the adoption or continuation of health behaviors that contribute to a healthy energy balance among school-aged children. Earlier studies have indicated that school and family environmen…

Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy and microcirculation.

2010

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy was described for the first time in Japan in the 1990s. It is very similar to the ischemic cardiopathy both for clinical and instrumental characteristics. His peculiarity is an alteration of the ventricular contraction mechanism with hypo-akinesis of the apex and lateral segments of the left ventricle, associated with hyper-kinesis of the heart base which is responsible for the typical echocardiographic aspect of a cruet during the systole. However, the etiology of this cardiomyopathy is still unknown despite the fact that numerous hypothesis have been made. A single study of 16 patients proved multivasal damage by a BLASH SCORE analysis of the coronary radiography.…

Rubinstein–Taybi syndrome 2 with cerebellar abnormality and neural tube defect

2019

Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome (RSTS) is a rare dominant disorder with intellectual disability, postnatal growth deficiency, and multiple congenital anomalies. Approximately 50-70% of the patients have a mutation in the CREBBP gene (RSTS1) and 5-10% display an EP300 gene mutation (RSTS2). Craniospinal abnormalities such as microcranium, scoliosis, and lordosis are frequent findings in RSTS1, but malformations of the brain or spinal cord are seen only occasionally. Here, we report on a 3-year-old boy with facial abnormalities of RSTS, broad thumbs and halluces, developmental delay, autistic features, cerebellar underdevelopment, and a neural tube defect. Molecular diagnostic of the CREBBP and EP3…

Relativistic corrections and unitary equivalence in elastic electron deuteron scattering.

1993

The role of unitary equivalence of relativistic corrections in elastic electron deutron scattering is studied, starting from a class of approximately, unitarily equivalent Hamiltonians and using consistent charge density operators. The connection of various formal approaches for deriving the relativistic corrections to wave functions and operators are discussed in detail. For reasons of simplicity, we have chosen a pure one-pion-exchange model and calculated the charge and quadrupole form factors of the deuteron. The numerical results show that the unitary equivalence holds at small momentum transfers, but breaks down rather soon with increasing momentum transfers (\ensuremath{\lesssim}5 ${…

Collective Behavior of Price Changes of ERC-20 Tokens

2020

We analyze a network constructed from tokens developed on Ethereum platform. We collect a large data set of ERC-20 token prices; the total market capitalization of the token set is 50.2 billion (109) US dollars. The token set includes 541 tokens; each one of them has a market capitalization of 1 million US dollars or more. We construct and analyze the networks based on cross-correlation of tokens’ returns. We find that the degree distributions of the resulting graphs do not follow the power law degree distribution. We cannot find any hierarchical structures nor groupings of ERC-20 tokens in our analysis. peerReviewed

Virtual and augmented reality: Advancing research in consumer marketing

2020

Abstract Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies are having a profound impact on a variety of marketing practices and are attracting increasing attention from marketing researchers. In this article, we review developments in VR/AR applications and research in the area of consumer marketing. We propose a conceptual framework for VR/AR research in consumer marketing that centers around consumer experiences provided by VR/AR applications along the customer journey and the effectiveness of such applications, and delve into the key concepts and components of the framework. Next, we provide a comprehensive overview of VR/AR applications in current practices and extant researc…

The influence of personal and social identity on the clothing consumption of adolescents

2016

We consider the influence of personal and social identity among adolescents on the importance they attach to clothing products and brands. The conceptual framework includes more conventional variables such as socialization (family, peers, media, and celebrities) and individual characteristics (gender and grade level). Based on a sample of 1,596 French high school adolescents, our results highlight: (i) the influence of identity on the importance attached to product and brand; (ii) the mediating effects of personal and social identities; and (iii) the moderating effects of gender and grade level. We conclude with an analysis of theoretical contributions, practical implications, and future re…

Effectuation and foreign market entry of entrepreneurial firms

2015

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the decision-making process for entrepreneurial firms when entering foreign markets and how and why they entered those markets. Design/methodology/approach – A nascent theory in entrepreneurship called effectuation is combined with internationalization process theory as the conceptual framework to study decision-making under uncertainty. The central concept in both these theories is relationships and how they can be used to gain knowledge and thus reduce uncertainty and in the case of effectuation to co-create opportunities to enter foreign markets. The research design involves a multiple case study of software firms from Finland and New Ze…
