Development of healthy eating habits early in life. Review of recent evidence and selected guidelines
2011
Encouraging healthy eating habit development early in life is a way to prevent the onset of diet-related diseases. This review focuses on the period ranging from the beginning of complementary feeding until the age of 3 years. Its first objective was to review relevant themes in the most recent literature on the development of healthy eating habits in this period. Its second objective was to evaluate to what extent international and national feeding guidelines cover these themes. Analysed guidelines included WHO, European Network for Public Health Nutrition, US and two European national guidelines (UK and France). They were evaluated using a 4-pt scale and compared. Well-covered themes in c…
Muscle plasticity after weight and combined (weight + jump) training.
2004
The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of jump training as a complement to weight training on jump performance and muscle strategy during the squat and countermovement jump.Twenty-two male handball players, between the ages of 17 and 24, and in good health, were randomly divided into three groups. Two were trained groups, weight training (WTG) and jump training combined with weight training (CTG), and one was a control group (CG). Maximal isometric force and maximal concentric power were assessed by a supine leg press, squat jump (SJ), counter movement jump (CMJ), and surface EMG was used to determine changes in muscle adaptation before and after the training period. After 6-wk…
Is COVID‐19 infection more severe in kidney transplant recipients?
2021
International audience; There are no studies which have compared the risk of severe Covid-19 and related mortality between transplant recipients and non-transplant patients. We enrolled two groups of patients hospitalized for Covid-19, i.e., kidney transplant recipients from the French Registry of Solid Organ Transplant (n=306) and a single-center cohort of non-transplant patients (n=795). An analysis was performed among subgroups matched for age and risk factors for severe Covid-19 or mortality. Severe Covid-19 was defined as admission (or transfer) to an intensive care unit, need for mechanical ventilation, or death.Transplant recipients were younger and had more comorbidities compared to…

2008
Until now, analyses about migrations of young people linked with French higher education seemed to focus only on costs and advantages. Especially students in training and young graduates integrating labour market. They consider strategies of job searching and studies efficiencies. Until now, these analyses about French students' and graduates' migrations didn't take into account geographical dimensions. From now, national databases allow studying regional migrations of both students and graduates. Now, one can answer to questions like: do they migrate the same way? Do regions influence the way they migrate? Main results are explained in three developments. The first one presents main charac…
