Image and Copy in French Deconstruction of Platonism

This paper aims at investigating the relationship between some contemporary Interpretations of Plato's Ontology and the Theory of Image-Copy connection developed in many Dialogues such as Sophist, Philebus, Timaeus and Republic. By examinating some of the most relevant criticisms to this Theory cast by french Philosophers such as Deleuze and Derrida and by retracing the roots of these criticisms to the common source of Nietzsche's and Heidegger's Thought, the paper argues a way to overcome the stiff opposition which is commonly held between these two fronts, thus trying to refine the hermeneutical approach to Plato which almost dominated the XX century.

Our study is part of the educational innovation project "Video in higher education. We live in a period which is inseparably linked to new forms of electronic communication. The Internet provides its users with newforms of communication including messaging, discussions, and chats. It appears that the written language used in email messages, forums, blogs and chat sessions differs from standard written language. The Computer becomes a tool, a sort of mediator, which indirectly modifies the CMC discourse. The aim of the contribution is to analyse specific forms of such type of written communication which appears in Romanian and Czech chats.
The effect of language use on the financial performance of microfinance banks: Evidence from cross-border activities in 74 countries

Abstract This multi-year study examines the relationship between financial performance and language use, observing 405 partnerships between microfinance banks and their international financial partners in 74 countries. Drawing on language research in international business, we find that microfinance banks based in English-speaking, French-speaking, and Spanish-speaking countries have higher performance. Furthermore, the linguistic distance between the home country of a microfinance bank and the home country of its international partner(s) is negatively related to its financial performance.
