Deux modèles de critique psychanalytique italienne

Analysis of the Freudian approaches to literature of Francesco Orlando and Elio Gioanola
"The Child in the House of Print"
2020
This article is devoted to the edition of Walter Pater’s “The Child in the House” printed on the private press of C.H.O. Daniel in Oxford in 1894. This edition may appear all the more surprising as it is deprived of illustrations, ornaments and miniation. However, if actual illustrations are missing—a usual practice of Pater’s since the second edition of The Renaissance in 1877—they are nevertheless implied in the very facture of the 68-page booklet printed by the Provost of Worcester College. Both the edition and the literary portrait partake in a specific form of literary impression understood as a process that stamps the brain and remains there, to be aroused anew when one reads or when …

The origin, definition and nature of the transconscious in the spirituality of Father Stăniloae
2022
In his important work, Orthodox Spirituality , Father Dumitru Staniloae considers that, besides the real existence of the subconscious, there exists in man another reality as well, comprising the superior divine energies found in the human heart and which he defined by using the modern notion of transconscious or supraconscious. Contribution: The present study emphasises on the origin, definitions and content of this concept in the work of Father Staniloae and its great importance in defining a way to know God and his salvation works, from the perspective of an anchorite and Christian mystic, engaged in the existential tension of communion with God.
A Pertinência de uma Abordagem Clínica Transcultural a Distúrbios Psicossomáticos na ilha Réunion
2018
Abstract Cultural foundations, beliefs and associated ritual practices delimit the relation to and the representation and lived experience of the body in specific ways. Language is the means through which the cultural specificity of both individual and shared mental content can be explored and worked with in therapy. This article presents beliefs about the body in a patient’s religion of origin and takes up the question of the role of the cultural dimension in psychosomatic phenomena. A case report gives indications of a novel therapeutic approach to this theme and highlights the intrinsic connection between cultural belonging and embodiment. Both the two-year long clinical intervention and…
Costruzioni eikota. Verità ed efficacia nella cura psicoanalitica.
2011
This article proposes to add the Greek notion of eikos to the debate on the epistemological mandate of psychoanalisis. This term is traditionally translated as likely or probable. The proposed thesis is that such a notion, if adequately understood, can offer an interesting starting point for the understanding of the Freudian concepts of “construction” and “historical truth”.
A Focused Review of Language Use Preceding Death by Execution.
2018
Executions are one form of death that can be assumed to be maximally anxiety provoking. Words spoken by death row inmates moments before their execution can provide valuable insights into people's end-of-life communication needs and themes, conveying what individuals choose to express to others in the face of imminent death. In this focused review, we describe findings from quantitative and qualitative text analysis studies that have analyzed affective experiences and meaning-making attempts in transcriptions of actual statements made by Texas death row inmates. Overall, the most prevalent content themes identified in these final acts of verbal communication in the reviewed studies consiste…
On Heidegger’s Sofa: Some Remarks on Psychotherapy from Historical and Philosophical Points of View
2019
AbstractOur starting point in this article is that the question of the essence of psychotherapy has to some extent been neglected. Its medical context has strengthened the tendency to interpret psychotherapy in general from a technical and overtly rationalistic standpoint. Instead, we would underline the importance of the philosophical and historical roots of all psychotherapies. In our view, it is imperative to acknowledge the antirationalistic underpinnings that have always informed the discipline. We show how speculative mysticism and the late philosophy of Martin Heidegger have proved to be indispensable tools in setting psychotherapies in their philosophical and historical context. Rob…
