Development of Slewing Mirror Telescope Optical System for the UFFO-pathfinder

The Slewing Mirror Telescope (SMT) is the UV/optical telescope of UFFO-pathfinder. The SMT optical system is a Ritchey-Chretien (RC) telescope of 100 mm diameter pointed by means of a gimbal-mounted flat mirror in front of the telescope. The RC telescope has a 17 × 17arcmin2 in Field of View and 4.3 arcsec resolution (full width half maximum of the point spread function) The beam-steering mirror enables the SMT to access a 35 × 35degree region and point and settle within 1 sec. Tolerance to rotation of toric monofocal and bifocal intraocular lenses. A theoretical study

Abstract This manuscript aims to evaluate the tolerance to rotation of a toric monofocal and a toric bifocal intraocular lenses with different cylinder powers. Theoretical designs based on wavefront aberrations were created to simulate a toric monofocal and a toric bifocal intraocular lens. Cylinder power ranged from −1 D to −6 D, in steps of −1 D. Tolerance to rotation was estimated by the visual Strehl ratio based on the optical transfer function (VSOTF) metric. Tolerance to rotation for both monofocal and bifocal intraocular lenses decreased when the cylinder power increased. Structure of longitudinal chromomagnetic fields in high energy collisions

We compute expectation values of spatial Wilson loops in the forward light cone of high-energy collisions. We consider ensembles of gauge field configurations generated from a classical Gaussian effective action as well as solutions of high-energy renormalization group evolution with fixed and running coupling. The initial fields correspond to a color field condensate exhibiting domain-like structure over distance scales of order the saturation scale. At later times universal scaling emerges at large distances for all ensembles, with a nontrivial critical exponent. Finally, we compare the results for the Wilson loop to the two-point correlator of magnetic fields.
Convergence of inertial prox-penalization and inertial forward-backward algorithms for solving bilevel monotone equilibrium problems

The main focus of this paper is on bilevel optimization on Hilbert spaces involving two monotone equilibrium bifunctions. We present a new achievement consisting on the introduction of inertial methods for solving this type of problems. Indeed, two several inertial type methods are suggested: a proximal algorithm and a forwardbackward one. In this paper, we introduce an inertial proximal method for solving a bilevel problem involving two monotone equilibrium bifunctions in Hilbert spaces. Under suitable conditions and without any restrictive assumption on the trajectories, the weak and strong convergence of the sequence generated by the iterative method are established. Two particular cases illustrating the proposed method are thereafter discussed with respect to hierarchical minimization problems and equilibrium problems under saddle point constraint. This study presents data from content analyses of the websites of all parties that stood in the 2009 European parliamentary elections in France, Germany, Great Britain and Poland. It cross-nationally examines the main functions of the websites, the adoption of Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 features, and the political and cultural factors that determine parties’ online communication. The findings show that while the main website function varies across countries, Web 1.0 is still the dominant mode of campaigning. Abstract A program for calculating abscissas and weights of Gaussian quadrature rules for arbitrary weight functions and intervals is reported. The program is written in Mathematica. COMPARISON OF EXPERIMENTS WITH WEIGHTED DISTRIBUTIONS

In this paper the standard statistical experiment in which a random sample is drawn from some distribution involving an unknown parameter θ is compared with experiments in which samples are obtained from different weighted versions of that distribution, so that the underlying probability of entering the sample is multiplied by some weight function. This comparison is carried out by means of the concepts of sufficiency and pairwise sufficiency as developed in Blackwell's theory of the comparison of statistical experiments. Many examples are presented which illustrate the wide variety of effects that weight functions can have on the information about θ.

Fatigue behaviour under multiaxial variable amplitude loading can be examined by applying the failure criteria based on the critical plane approach. Positions of the critical plane can be determined in relation to the principal stress or strain directions. In the present paper, the expected directions of the principal stresses under proportional and non-proportional loading have been obtained by averaging the instantaneous values of the Euler angles through special weight functions.
