An interactional ‘live eye tracking’ study in autism spectrum disorder : combining qualitative and quantitative approaches in the study of gaze

Recent studies on gaze behaviours in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have utilised “live eye tracking.” Such research has focused on generating quantitative eye tracking measurements, which provide limited (if any) qualitative contextual details of the actual interactions in which gaze occurs. The artide presents a local initiative of the German minority in Chrząstowice, which encourages children and youths to pursue a two-way activity, that is learning a minority language and actively spending free time outdoors. The author describes the functions of supporting minority languages and the parents’ motivation to let their children attend classes at the football academy. The study was conducted using the following research methods: individual in-depth interview (IDI) with the founder of the football academy and a ąuestionnaire survey filled in individually by the parents.

The situation allowed us to work on the concept of the quadratic function with a group of 11th grade students and take into account the hypothesis that the qualitative analysis of the phenomenon, the knowledge of the qualitative properties of the families of functions and the meaning of the parameters are crucial elements for the management and control of the modelling process. Adaptive variable structure fuzzy neural identification and control for a class of MIMO nonlinear system

This paper presents a novel adaptive variable structure (AVS) method to design a fuzzy neural network (FNN). This AVS-FNN is based on radial basis function (RBF) neurons, which have center and width vectors. The network performs sequential learning through sliding data window reflecting system dynamic changes, and dynamic growing-and-pruning structure of FNN. The salient characteristics of the AVS-FNN are as follows: (1) Structure-learning and parameters estimation are performed automatically and simultaneously without partitioning input space and selecting initial parameters a priori. Neighborhood Mobility and Unmet Physical Activity Need in Old Age: A 2-Year Follow-Up

Background: Many older people report a willingness to increase outdoor physical activity (PA), but no opportunities for it, a situation termed as unmet PA need. The authors studied whether lower neighborhood mobility and PA precede the development of unmet PA need. Methods: Community-dwelling 75- to 90-year-old people (n = 700) were interviewed annually for 2 years. Unmet PA need, neighborhood mobility, and PA were self-reported.
