Continuous *-homomorphisms of Banach Partial *-algebras

2007

We continue the study of Banach partial *-algebras, in particular the question of the interplay between *-homomorphisms and biweights. Two special types of objects are introduced, namely, relatively bounded biweights and Banach partial *-algebras satisfying a certain Condition (S), which behave in a more regular way. We also present a systematic construction of Banach partial *-algebras of this type and exhibit several examples.

SOME SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF MULTIPLIERS ON SEMI-PRIME BANACH ALGEBRAS

1995

Abstract We extend to arbitrary semi-prime Banach algebras some results of spectral theory and Fredholm theory obtained in [1] and [2] for multipliers defined in commutative semi-simple Banach algebras.

PIP-Spaces and Signal Processing

2009

Contemporary signal processing makes an extensive use of function spaces, always with the aim of getting a precise control on smoothness and decay properties of functions. In this chapter, we will discuss several classes of such function spaces that have found interesting applications, namely, mixed-norm spaces, amalgam spaces, modulation spaces, or Besov spaces. It turns out that all those spaces come in families indexed by one or more parameters, that specify, for instance, the local behavior or the asymptotic properties. In general, a single space, taken alone, does not have an intrinsic meaning, it is the family as a whole that does, which brings us to the very topic of this volume. In …

A note on quarkonial systems and multilevel partition of unity methods

2013

We discuss the connection between the theory of quarkonial decompositions for function spaces developed by Hans Triebel, and the multilevel partition of unity method. The central result is an alternative approach to the stability of quarkonial decompositions in Besov spaces , s > n(1/p − 1)+, which leads to relaxed decay assumptions on the elements of a quarkonial system as the monomial degree grows.

Initial Data for Non-Linear Evolution Equations and Differentiable Vectors of Group Representations

1995

Regularity properties of non-linear Lie algebra representations are defined. These properties are satisfied in examples given by evolution equations. We prove that this regularity implies that the set of C ∞ vectors for the non-linear group representation obtained by integration of the Lie algebra representation coincide with the set of C ∞ vectors of the linear part (the order one term) of this group representation.

Invariance spectrale des algèbres d'opérateurs pseudodifférentiels

2002

We construct and study several algebras of pseudodifferential operators that are closed under holomorphic functional calculus. This leads to a better understanding of the structure of inverses of elliptic pseudodifferential operators on certain non-compact manifolds. It also leads to decay properties for the solutions of these operators. To cite this article: R. Lauter et al., C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 334 (2002) 1095–1099.

Weakly algebraizable logics

2000

AbstractIn the paper we study the class of weakly algebraizable logics, characterized by the monotonicity and injectivity of the Leibniz operator on the theories of the logic. This class forms a new level in the non-linear hierarchy of protoalgebraic logics.

Generalizations of Clausen's formula and algebraic transformations of Calabi-Yau differential equations

2011

AbstractWe provide certain unusual generalizations of Clausen's and Orr's theorems for solutions of fourth-order and fifth-order generalized hypergeometric equations. As an application, we present several examples of algebraic transformations of Calabi–Yau differential equations.
