Optimal design of tube hydroforming processes: A fuzzy-logic-based approach

In recent years, tube hydroforming has become an economic and industrially suitable alternative to various traditional stamping processes, in particular for small batch production. In the present paper, an artificial intelligence system based on fuzzy logic was implemented for tube hydroforming process design. The aim was to achieve a process design procedure able to prevent forming defects and guarantee the achievement of the desired final shape of the component. In particular, the process design concerns the internal pressure history and the axial feeding. The fuzzy system is able to provide optimal trajectories for both the controlled parameters, producing a defect-free final part.

In this work, we introduced a novel localized region based level set model which is simultaneously effective for heterogeneous object or/and background and robust against noise. As such, we propose to minimize an energy functional based on a selective local average, i.e., when computing the local average, instead to use the intensity of all the pixels surrounding a given pixel, we first give a local Gaussian fuzzy membership to be a background or an object pixel to each of these surrounding pixels and then, we use the fuzzy weighted local average of these pixels to replace the traditional local average. A new automated image analysis method for quantification of fluorescent dots is presented. This method facilitates counting the number of fluorescent puncta in specific locations of individual cells and also enables estimation of the number of cells by detecting the labeled nuclei. The method is here used for counting the AM1-43 labeled fluorescent puncta in human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells induced to differentiate with all-trans retinoic acid (RA), and further stimulated with high potassium (K+) containing solution. Numerical Solution of Fuzzy Differential Equations with Z-numbers using Fuzzy Sumudu Transforms

The uncertain nonlinear systems can be modeled with fuzzy differential equations (FDEs) and the solutions of these equations are applied to analyze many engineering problems. However, it is very difficult to obtain solutions of FDEs. In this paper, the solutions of FDEs are approximated by utilizing the fuzzy Sumudu transform (FST) method. Here, the uncertainties are in the sense of Z-numbers. Important theorems are laid down to illustrate the properties of FST. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that this new technique is effective to estimate the solutions of FDEs.
Polynomial Fuzzy Models for Nonlinear Control: A Taylor Series Approach

Classical Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models are formed by convex combinations of linear consequent local models. Such fuzzy models can be obtained from nonlinear first-principle equations by the well-known sector-nonlinearity modeling technique. This paper extends the sector-nonlinearity approach to the polynomial case. This way, generalized polynomial fuzzy models are obtained. The new class of models is polynomial, both in the membership functions and in the consequent models. Importantly, T-S models become a particular case of the proposed technique.
