Further results on H<inf>∞</inf> control of switched linear time-delay systems
2012
In this note, we study the problems of stability analysis and H ∞ controller synthesis of discrete-time switched systems with time-varying delay. The system under consideration is firstly transformed into an interconnection system. Based on the system transformation and the scaled small gain theorem, the asymptotic stability of the original system is examined via the version of the bounded realness of the transformed forward system. The aim of the proposed approach is to reduce conservatism, which is made possible by a precise approximation of the time-varying delay and the input-output approach. The proposed stability condition is demonstrated to be much less conservative than most existin…
Fuzzy filter design for discrete-time delayed systems with distributed probabilistic sensor faults
2013
In this paper, the problem of distributed fuzzy filter design has been solved for T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delays and multiple probabilistic packet losses. Our attention is paid to designing the distributed fuzzy filters to guarantee the filtering error dynamic system to be mean-square asymptotically stable with an average ℋ∞ performance. Sufficient conditions for the obtained filtering error dynamic system are proposed by applying a comparison model and the scaled small gain theorem. Based on the measurements and estimates of the system states for each sensor and its neighbors, the solution of the parameters of the distributed fuzzy filters is characterized in terms of the feasi…
Taxonomy of homicides of women in intimate partner relationships
2018
Intimate partner violence prevention is a challenge that has received wide international interest. Homicide is the most serious result of this type of violence, although its prevalence is low and its etiology is complex. This paper briefly reviews the description of the problem from a gender perspective and the existence of asymmetry, the perspective of violence and its description of differential risk factors, and the ecological model that connects personal, contextual, and societal variables, presenting a more integrative proposal. Studies analyzing and comparing homicide profiles are described, as well as the state of the art regarding risk assessment, with special attention to the impli…
The Prosecution of International Crimes in Argentina
2010
AbstractIn recent years, the Argentine courts have developed a rich case law surrounding the prosecution of international crimes. In particular, the courts have handed down judgments regarding the limits to amnesties and pardons, and the inapplicability of statutory limitations for crimes against humanity, invoking several sources of international law in the process. However, applying these international norms has caused debate about constitutional matters such as the reach of the principle of legality, the use of customary law, and whether domestic criminal norms are compatible—or could even be combined—with international criminal norms.
Los trabajos sobre negociación colectiva publicados en revistas españolas antes de 1995 e incluidos en la base de datos ISOC. Acercamiento biliométri…
1997
Legal literature is one of the areas most neglected by bibliometric studies, both in Spa in and abroad. Within this context, the general aim of this note is to check the utility of national databases in the retrieval and overview of the legal literature published in Spanish journals. 447 papers on collective bargaining and allied subjects published before 1995 and included in ISOC database have been retrieved. Using a computer file of these papers, the distributions by years, number of authors per paper, institutions of origin, journals and specific subjects was analysed from a bibliometric approach. As a case study, distributions of the publications which have been used in a research paper…
Spider cues stimulate feeding, weight gain and survival of crickets
2014
1. To avoid predation, prey often change their behaviour upon encountering cues of predator presence. Such behavioural changes should enhance individual survival, but are likely to be energy-demanding. This should deplete energy reserves of the prey, unless it increases food intake. 2. These hypotheses were studied by conducting two microcosm experiments. In the first, crickets were kept on plants previously occupied by a spider or on control plants. After 3 days leaf consumption and weight gain of the crickets were quantified. In the second experiment, crickets were kept in the presence or absence of spider cues for 3 days. Spiders were then added and predation of the crickets was recorded…
Early infancy BMI trajectories and lung function and asthma during childhood
2019
Previous studies assessing the association of birthweight and infant weight gain with lung function and asthma have focused on the difference between two time points or on growth patterns. Body mass index (BMI) trajectories, which integrate information on multiple aspects of growth, may allow a more accurate identification of children at higher risk of future respiratory diseases. We assessed the associations of BMI trajectories from birth to 4 years with lung function and current asthma at 7 years. We included 1399 participants from the population-based INMA birth cohort study. Five BMI trajectories were previously identified: ‘average birth size-slower BMI gain’, ‘higher birth size-accele…

The equal collective gains value in cooperative games
2021
AbstractThe property of equal collective gains means that each player should obtain the same benefit from the cooperation of the other players in the game. We show that this property jointly with efficiency characterize a new solution, called the equal collective gains value (ECG-value). We introduce a new class of games, the average productivity games, for which the ECG-value is an imputation. For a better understanding of the new value, we also provide four alternative characterizations of it, and a negotiation model that supports it in subgame perfect equilibrium.
