Psychomotor disadaptation syndrome (PDS) was first described by the Geriatrics School of Dijon (France), three decades ago, under the name «psychomotor regression syndrome». Over time, the original clinical features remained unchanged. However, progress has been made in its pathophysiology understanding and care, hence the new name, PDS, appeared in the 1990s. The PDS is also called sub-cortico-frontal dysfunction syndrome since the 2000s. It corresponds to a decompensation of posture, gait and psychomotor automatisms, related to an alteration of the postural and motor programming, which is a consequence of sub-cortico-frontal lesions. The advancements in the technology have made possible the transformation of animal skin and fur wrapped around feet by our ancestors into modern-day marvels of athletic shoes. Arguably one of the most pronounced innovations in the field of footwear design is the introduction of unstable shoe construction (USC), over the last few decades. Most widely investigated shoes are the Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) shoes. Simplified model of mean double step (MDS) in human body movement

In this paper we present a simplified and useful model of the human body movement based on the full gait cycle description, called the Mean Double Step (MDS). It enables the parameterization and simplification of the human movement. Furthermore it allows a description of the gait cycle by providing standardized estimators to transform the gait cycle into a periodical movement process. The influence of short term, intensive hippotherapy on gait in children with cerebral palsy

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of short term hippotherapy on functional gait changes in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Participants were two boys (ages 12 and 13) with spastic diplegia and a girl (14 yrs) with athetoid CP. Single-subject (ABA) design was used to determine quantitative changes in functional gait parameters (velocity, stride length, and cadence) following three weeks of hippotherapy. The two boys demonstrated improvement in stride length and gait velocity without sustained improvement in cadence. Nesenos zinātniskajos darbos tikusi izvirzīta hipotēze, ka individuālās uzvedības (personalitātes) pazīmes var būt saistītas ar sugu un indivīdu bioloģiskajām īpatnībām, taču ir tikai nedaudz empīrisku pētniecisko darbu, kas pierādītu šo hipotēzi. Šī maģistra darba tēma ir “Saistība starp nebrīvē turēto paipalu (Coturnix japonica) agrīno augšanu un individuālajām uzvedības atšķirībām”. Tā mērķis ir izskaidrot saistību starp nebrīvē turēto paipalu cāļu augšanas ātrumu un uzvedības ietekmēto dzīves gaitu.
