Mothers’ non-standard working and childcare-related challenges : A comparison between lone and coupled mothers

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to particularly focus on lone-mother families, comparing the childcare-related challenges experienced by working lone mothers and coupled mothers in three European countries in the context of a 24/7 economy and non-standard working hours (e.g. evening, night and weekend work). Growth and field crystallization of anodic films on Ta–Nb alloys

The growth behavior of amorphous anodic films on Ta–Nb solid solution alloys has been investigated over a wide composition range at a constant current density of 50 Am−2 in 0.1 mol dm−3 ammonium pentaborate electrolyte. The anodic films consist of two layers, comprising a thin outer Nb2O5 layer and an inner layer consisting of units of Ta2O5 and Nb2O5. The outer Nb2O5 layer is formed as a consequence of the faster outward migration of Nb5+ ions, compared with Ta5+ ions, during film growth under the high electric field. Global temperatures are rising at an unprecedented rate, but environmental responses are often difficult to recognize and quantify. Long-term observations of plant phenology, the annually recurring sequence of plant developmental stages, can provide sensitive measures of climate change and important information for ecosystem services. Here, we present 419 354 recordings of the first flowering date from 406 plant species in the UK between 1753 and 2019 CE. Community-wide first flowering advanced by almost one month on average when comparing all observations before and after 1986 ( p < 0.0001). This study investigated if discontinuous employment in mid-career was related to self-reported physical and mental functioning at age 60–64 years.
