Il volume si sofferma su alcune questioni educative che il fenomeno della migrazione solleva, con particolare attenzione alla formazione di un’inedita “costellazione” di famiglie migranti. Nowadays the parenting presents unexampled fragilities and different questions than the ones in the past. Many parents feel their educational role as more demanding and complex. The essay reviews sociological and psychological references about some aspects of these new changes, in order to start a pedagogical reflection about the emergence of new family educational relationships. The need of an educational sharing between adults and the rethinking of the concept of parental competence (as a dual entity) are proposed and discussed.

This study explores the experience of motherhood in migration and examines how migrant women live their experience of motherhood in a foreign country. Pregnancy is a culturally determined event and the distance from home may increase the vulnerability of migrant women during this particular period of life. The essay examines the measures undertaken both at EU and national level to face the needs of work-life balance. More speci&cally, the paper analyzes the main provisions introduced by EU Directive 2019/1158 on the balance between private and professional life, as well as the subsequent Italian regulatory framework with particular reference to the rules carried-out during the epidemiological emergency: the Author highlights how work-life balance policies have effects not only on female employment but also on the distribution of care burdens between men and women and, consequently, on gender equalit
