Artikkelissa esittelemme kahden Adolf von Beckerin nimiin signeeratun Ateljeessa-teoksen tutkimusta taidehistorian, maalaustekniikan ja materiaalitutkimuksen näkökulmista. Samalla pyrimme tuomaan esiin mitä uutta moniammatillinen yhteistyö ja luonnontieteessä käytetyt menetelmät on tuoneet taideteosten tutkimukseen. Tutkimuksessa voitiin osoittaa, että toinen teoksista on alkuperäinen ja toinen on kopio siitä. Kopion maalaajaksi osoittautui Hilda Granstedt. Pompejin pigmentit : materiaalitutkimuksellinen näkökulma antiikin taiteeseen

Tämän pro gradu-tutkielman tarkoituksena on perehdyttää lukija konservoinnin materiaalitutkimusten kautta muinaisen Pompejin pigmentteihin ja niiden nykyaikaisiin tutkimusmenetelmiin. Tutkielman aineisto koostuu 2000-luvulla luonnontieteellisten alojen soveltavissa julkaisusarjoissa esitellyistä pigmenttitutkimuksista ja niiden tuloksista. Tutkielman aineistona olevien tutkimusjulkaisujen kohteina ovat sekä Pompejin kaivausalueella in situ että Napolin Arkeologiseen Kansallismuseoon siirrettyjen maalausten pigmentit ja niiden kokemat muutokset. This article presents the results of material studies focused on identifying and comparing the contents of the pigment palettes of two notable Finnish painters, Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) and Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865–1931). The research methods used comprise energydispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF) and polarised light microscopy (PLM). In addition, certain pigments have been identified in colour areas of the works using specular reflection FT-infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and Raman spectrometry. International audience; We present an automatic method for measuring the tone response curve of display devices based on visual methods, where the eye is replaced by an end-user, uncalibrated camera, such as a webcam. Our approach compares a series of halftoned patches of known covering ratio with a continuous series of tone patches for each ratio. Both patches are shot by a camera that is used as a virtual eye to evaluate the luminance difference. By an iterative process, the continuous tone value is adjusted while compared with the perceived level of the halftoned patch. Abstract Despite the biologically damaging impacts of solar ultraviolet radiation (UV) in nature, little is known about its natural variability, forcing mechanisms, and long-term effects on ecosystems and organisms. Television ääni on merkittävästi muuttumassa. Analoginen ääni on perinteisesti ollut yhdensuuntaista −lähettäjältä–vataanottajalle –suuntaista, ja välittäminen on ollut ylhäältä–alas –muotoista. Enää ei ole kyse pelkästään äänen välittämisestä vaan myös käytöstä. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, millaisia television äänen uudet käyttömuodot voisivat olla ja mitä hyötyä niistä on käyttäjälleen. Tutkimusmenetelmänä käytettiin asiantuntijahaastattelua. Tutkimusta varten haastateltiin 10 digitaalisen television ja äänen asiantuntijaa.
