AbstractThis article investigates the construction of gender identities of Pakistani men and women Facebook users given that Facebook has emerged as the prime social media platform through which Pakistani users interact. By employing thematic analysis and taking insights from theory of performativity and intersectionality, the findings of the interview data suggest that the formation, negotiation, and expression of gender identities on Facebook occurs through complex interplay between the discourses of religion, class, culture, and tradition. This article focuses on international students studying in an English-mediated nursing degree program in Finland. From sociocognitive and ecological perspectives, this study examines the development of the students’ professional Finnish language skills and agency during their practical training. In addition, this article explores how students are positioned as capable workers. To shed light on the students’ professional language skills, agency, and positionings, interviews with vocational teachers, head nurses, and two international nursing students are examined using narrative analysis. International audience; The effect of the addition of high methoxyl pectin on the stability of pea protein isolate emulsions was investigated. Except for low pectin concentrations at acidic pHs where bridging flocculation occurred the addition of pectin improved emulsion stability to pH changes and depletion flocculation induced by maltodextrin addition. The mechanism of pectin induced stability was probed by measuring protein-pectin complex formation in solution, zeta potential of the emulsions droplets and the change in surface viscoelasticity on pectin addition. Toxigenic potential of Fusarium culmorum strains isolated from French wheat

Sixty F. culmorum strains were isolated from wheat grains collected from different wheat-growing areas in France and from different cultivars. The isolates were grown on autoclaved wheat grain to assess their ability to produce trichothecenes and zearalenone. Fungal biomass was evaluated through the ergosterol grain content. All the isolates produced zearalenone (0.39-1660 mg kg(-1)).
