This is due to a large extent to N2O emission after N fertilizer application, but the emissions are very variable in space and time, due mainly to the variability in environmental conditions. Abstract Transport is the sector with the fastest growth of greenhouse gases emissions in many countries. Accumulation of these emissions may cause uncertain and irreversible adverse climate change impacts. In this context, we use the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to face the question on how to select the best transport policy if the experts have different opinions and beliefs on the occurrence of these impacts. Studies on Using Sugar Beet for Bio-Ethanol for Vehicle Motors

The paper presents some researches on using sugar beet for producing bio-ethanol, considering the advantages which this raw material presents compared to other materials from which bio-ethanol can be obtained. One of the reasons of using bio-ethanol for motors as a fuel is the goal to reduce of 20% of greenhouse gases and it is established that the emissions of CO2 are much reduced in the case of bio-ethanol than that of conventional fuels.
Energy efficiency in Spanish wastewater treatment plants: a non-radial DEA approach.

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are energy-intensive facilities. Thus, reducing their carbon footprint is particularly important, both economically and environmentally. Knowing the real operating energy efficiency of WWTPs is the starting point for any energy-saving initiative. In this article, we applied a non-radial Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodology to calculate energy efficiency indices for sampling of WWTPs located in Spain. In a second stage analysis, we examined the operating variables contributing to differences in energy efficiency among plants. Adopting magnetocaloric heat pumping and refrigeration for electrical vehicle

International audience; Refrigeration process is based on conventional gas compression and expansion techniques. However, this technique has numerous disadvantages since it generates greenhouse gas and is partly responsible for global warming. This paper exposes analternative method: magnetocaloric refrigeration that presents the advantage to combine high-energy efficiency and respect of theenvironment. Magnetic heat pumping and cooling is compared to conventional method applied on vehicle air conditioning system.Simulation results are used to demonstrate the approach.

According IPCC guidelines for determination of greenhouse gases in waste management (IPCC 2006) the quantity of greenhouse gases must be determined for the emissions of CO2, CH4, N2O for such treatment activities: disposal of solid waste, biological treatment of solid waste and incineration and open burning of waste. Artificially increasing the albedo of marine boundary layer clouds by the mechanical emission of sea spray aerosol has been proposed as a geoengineering technique to slow the warming caused by anthropogenic greenhouse gases. A previous global model study (Korhonen et al., 2010) found that only modest increases (< 20%) and sometimes even decreases in cloud drop number (CDN) concentrations would result from emission scenarios calculated using a windspeed dependent geoengineering flux parameterisation. Understanding how ozone is deposited on vegetation canopies is needed to perform tropospheric greenhouse gas budgets and evaluate the associated damage on vegetation. In this study, we propose a new multilayer scheme of ozone deposition on vegetation canopies that predicts stomatal, cuticular and soil deposition pathways separately. This mechanistic ozone deposition scheme is based on the multi-layer, multi-leaf mass and energy transfer model MuSICA.
