Manufacturing export performance and public capital: an analysis by country technology position

The objective of this paper is to examine the relationship between public capital and manufacturing export performance. It also aims at investigating whether this relationship depends on the proximity of a country's technology frontier. To achieve this, we adopted a methodology that estimates the elasticities of public capital as a non-rival factor in a model that considers factor intensity as a mechanism of industrial development. We use an interaction model with panel data from 1999 to 2014 across 35 advanced and less advanced countries. The chapter describes an umbrella concept, proximity violence, of which violence against women is only one manifestation. Of this phenomenon , the author endeavoured to highlight the patterns that make defining its material contours and specifying the tesserae that compose it difficult. In fact cultural factors, contingent situations became entangled with concrete elements of pain and abuse of the victims. Darbs ir veltīts lēmumu pieņemšanai, balstoties uz ekspertu novērtējumiem un lietojot priekšrocību attiecību agregāciju. Katra eksperta viedoklim atbilstoša priekšrocību attiecību matrica ir ģenerēta uz ranžēšanas vektora pamata. Priekšrocību attiecību matricu modificētā agregācija ļauj samazināt neobjektīva eksperta ietekmi uz ekspertu grupas lēmuma pieņemšanu. Modificētā agregācija izmanto līdzības pakāpes un ļauj palielināt līdzību starp ekspertu sniegtiem novērtējumiem.
The use of pumice lightweight concrete for masonry applications

In the last two decades, the use of pumice as lightweight aggregate for concrete in structural applications has been the object of different studies. The aim was to find out if pumice can be an alternative to ordinary lightweight aggregate. The present paper is framed in this context. Here, a study is presented showing the use of pumice for making lightweight concrete units for masonry members. Through the paper, the formulation of a mix design for lightweight concrete is proposed. Then the obtained mechanical characteristics of the masonry units are discussed and compared to the code requirements. The present study aims to contribute to the discussion regarding the possibility of conceptualizing a religious diaspora. It proposes a new way of defining it, namely in relation to religious and not to ethno-territorial realities, but without editing the territorial dimension out. After sketching the definition on this theoretical basis, the study refers to six case studies, pointing to the way in which the definitory traits of a religious diaspora are actualized in each situation under study. Ethnic residential segregation in Italy is an emerging key question, which will be crucial in the definition and implementation of both urbanistic and social policies. This paper focuses on this phenomenon in the Italian city of Palermo. We use individual data for all the population residing in the city at 31 December 2011, organized by ethnicity and district.
