Neutriinojen sekoitusmatriisin Majorana-vaiheet

Lukuisat hiukkasfysiikan kokeet ovat vahvistaneet neutriinojen olevan massallisia hiukkasia ja kykenevän muuttumaan neutriinotyypistä toiseen. Tätä niin kutsuttua neutriino-oskillaatiota parametrisoi neutriinojen sekoitusmatriisi, jota puolestaan parametrisoi kolmen sekoituskulman lisäksi yksi tai kolme CP-symmetriaa rikkovaa vaihetta riippuen siitä ovatko neutriinot Dirac- tai Majorana-hiukkasia. Tässä työssä tarkasteltiin edellä mainittujen Dirac- ja Majorana-vaiheiden merkitystä neutriino-oskillaatioissa, neutriinonottomassa kaksoisbeetahajoamisessa, Higgsin triplettimallissa ja baryoniepäsymmetrian synnyttäneessä leptonigeneesissä. A GEM-TPC in twin configuration for the Super-FRS tracking of heavy ions at FAIR

The GEM-TPC [1] described herein will be part of the standard beam-diagnostics equipment of the Super-FRS [2] . This chamber will provide tracking information for particle identification at rates up to 1 MHz on an event-by-event basis. The key requirements of operation for these chambers are: close to 100% tracking efficiency under conditions of high counting rate, spatial resolution below 1 mm and a superb large dynamic range covering projectiles from Z=1 up to Z=92. Higgs mass predicted from the standard model with asymptotically safe gravity

Tässä Pro Gradu -tutkielmassa tavoitteena on ennustaa Higgsin bosonin massa ottaen lähtökohdaksi hiukkasfysiikan standardimalli, johon on kytketty gravitaatio ns. asymptoottisesti turvallisena teoriana. Ennusteen laskemiseksi selvitetään Higgsin bosonin itseiskytkennän ja neljän muun standardimallin kytkinvakion juokseminen, eli kytkinvakioiden käyttäytyminen energiaskaalan funktiona, johtavassa kertaluvussa MS-skeemassa. Standardimallista saatuihin β-funktioihin lisätään asymptoottisesti turvallisen gravitaation antamat korjaukset suurilla energiaskaaloilla, jonka jälkeen β-funktioiden muodostama differentiaaliyhtälöryhmä ratkaistaan numeerisesti. Search for pair production of Higgsinos in final states with at least three b -tagged jets in s=13  TeV pp collisions using the ATLAS detector

2018

A search for pair production of the supersymmetric partners of the Higgs boson (higgsinos H˜) in gauge-mediated scenarios is reported. Each higgsino is assumed to decay to a Higgs boson and a gravitino. Two complementary analyses, targeting high- and low-mass signals, are performed to maximize sensitivity. The two analyses utilize LHC pp collision data at a center-of-mass energy s=13  TeV, the former with an integrated luminosity of 36.1  fb-1 and the latter with 24.3  fb-1, collected with the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016. Analysis of Spatial Disparities by a Structural Equations Model

This paper presents a new analytical framework for assessing spatial disparities among countries. It takes for granted that the analysis of a country’s performance cannot be limited solely to either economic or social factors. The aim of the paper is to combine relevant economic and non-economic (mainly social) aspects of a country’s performance in an integrated logical framework. BaMgSiO4:Fe ir viens no visizteiksmīgākajiem neorganiskajiem fotohromiem materiāliem, tomēr fotohromā efekta izcelsme BaMgSiO4:Fe nav viennozīmīgi izskaidrota. Darbā ir sintezēti BaMgSiO4:Fe paraugi, un tie ir pētīti ar difūzās atstarošanās optiskās spektroskopijas un elektronu paramagnētiskās rezonanses (EPR) spektroskopijas metodēm. Darbā apspriesta fotohromā efekta izcelsme BaMgSiO4:Fe, kā arī noteikta optimālā Fe koncentrācija un sintēzes apstākļi efekta pastiprināšanai.

β-Delayed and isomer spectroscopy of neutron-rich Ta and W isotopes

2009

Decays of neutron-rich A ~ 190 nuclei have been studied following projectile fragmentation of a 208Pb beam on a 9Be target at the GSI Fragment Separator. Gamma-ray decays from previously reported isomeric states in 188Ta, 190W and 192, 193Re were used as internal calibrations for the particle identification analysis, together with the identification of previously unreported isomeric decays in 189Ta and 191W. The current work also identifies β-delayed γ rays following the decay of 188Ta to 188W for the first time.
