Tämä tutkielma käsittelee moraalisten ja esteettisten arvostelmien suhdetta taiteessa keskittyen kolmeen kohtuulliseksi teoriaksi katsottuun näkemykseen: Noël Carrollin kohtuulliseen moralismiin, Berys Gautin etikismiin sekä Andersonin ja Deanin kohtuulliseen autonomismiin. Tarkoitukseni on selvittää, millä tavalla kukin näistä teoreetikoista näkee taiteen moraalin ja estetiikan suhteen. Translating Transculturality: Mediation of Identity in John Rabe’s Diaries

Along with people’s movement and technology, local and foreign components in language and culture become interconnected. Hence translation and cultural studies need approaches, beyond the national, to fuzzy linguistic and cultural forms. One such case originates from the Nanking Massacre, which occurred in the East Asian theatre of WWII. John Rabe, a businessman from Hamburg and a foreign resident in Nanking, was elected by the International Committee for the Nanking Safety Zone to be its chairman. We are interested in the Journal of Mathématiques Pures and Appliquées (JMPA) over the period 1917-1937. From the end of 1921 , two mathematicians worked to its publication, Henri Villat as editor in chief and Robert Montessus Ballore as associate editor. Through unpublished letters , we descrive the operation of the JMPA after WWI.

Théophile Gautier viajó por España entre mayo y octubre de 1840; frutos de ese viaje son tanto el Voyage en Espagne como el libro de poemas España. En primer lugar intentaremos dar una visión de conjunto de esta obra para ver qué aspectos de la geografía y la cultura española son tratados en los poemas. Paisajes, hechos legendarios e históricos, pintores o aspectos de la cultura española constituyen en efecto sus temas dominantes. Sin embargo, intentaremos demostrar que, en realidad, los poemas de España suponen, en mayor medida que un acercamiento a la cultura del otro, una indagación de Gautier en su propia escritura y en los fundamentos de su universo poético. W XIX stuleciu, „wieku przedmiotów”, kolekcjonowanie ludzkich szczątków, stanowiące przejaw chęci poznania tajemnic człowieka, nic należy do rzadkości. Zakonserwowane w różny sposób fragmenty ludzkiego ciała stanowią również powtarzający się element popularnego nurtu opowieści grozy. W okresie romantyzmu stanowią one jeden z ważnych elementów cudowności, skupiając na sobie narrację i prowokując kolejne niezwykłe wydarzenia (Stopa mumii Theophile’a Gautiera).
