Associative behaviour of κ-carrageenan in aqueous solutions and its modification by different monovalent salts as reflected by viscometric parameters

Abstract The viscometric behaviour of κ-carrageenan in aqueous solutions and in the presence of monovalent salts was investigated at 25 °C. Coil, helix or double helix conformations were induced by cooling hot κ-carrageenan solutions under appropriate ionic conditions. A new viscometric approach was used for modeling the behaviour of κ-carrageenan solutions. The intrinsic viscosity, [η], is markedly changed by the presence of different monovalent salts (NaCl, NaI and CsI). In pure water, the intrinsic viscosity amounts to 48 dL·g−1. Epidermaalisen kasvutekijän reseptorin (EGFR) monoklonaalisia vasta-aineita (mAb) käytetään apuna metastaattisen kolorektaalisyövän (mCRC) hoidossa. Relation between structural and release properties in a polysaccharide gel system.

Abstract The potential utility of κ-carrageenan gels for preparing drug release devices is here shown. Structural properties of κ-carrageenan gels prepared with different salt composition and containing Ketoprofen sodium salt, as model drug, have been evaluated with static light scattering and rheological measurements. These properties have been correlated with release profiles in vitro at pH 5.5. Release properties from gelled matrices have been compared with those obtained by two commercial products containing the same drug. Il X20 è uno dei cubicoli più rilevanti della galleria X. Consiste in una camera funeraria quadrangolare di m 8 (E-O) x 5 (N-S), preceduta da un dromos quadrato di m 1,80 x 1,80 e derivata da un preesistente arcosolio bisomo. La camera accoglie in tutto ventinove sepolture: dodici arcosoli sia per adulti che per bambini, una tomba a nicchia, due tombe a cassa e quattordici formae. I dati archeologici e gli esiti dell’analisi strutturale hanno permesso di accertare che l’attuale aspetto del cubicolo è il risultato di quattro fasi costruttive. Repeated exposure of fluazinam fungicides affects gene expression profiles yet carries no costs on a nontarget pest

Fungicides are used to control pathogenic fungi of crop species, but they have also been shown to alter behavioral, life history and fitness related traits of non-target insects. Here, we tested the fungicide effects on feeding behavior, survival and physiology of the non-target pest insect, the Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). Feeding behavior was studied by a choice test of adult beetles, which were allowed to choose between a control and a fungicide (fluazinam) treated potato leaf. Isolation of two triterpenoids and a biflavanone with anti-Inflammatory activity from Schinus molle fruits.

Three compounds with anti-inflammatory activity were isolated from Schinus molle fruits. Two of the compounds were identified as 3- epi-isomasticadienolalic acid ( 1), isomasticadienonalic acid ( 2) and chamaejasmin ( 3). Triterpenes 1 and 2, and biflavanone 3 were tested on two models of mice paw inflammation: one of acute inflammation, induced by subcutaneous injection of either phospholipase A (2) (PLA (2)) or carrageenan in the paws of mice, and one of chronic inflammation in the form of eczema, provoked by repeated administration of TPA to the ears of mice. Tetrel bonding is the noncovalent interaction of group IV elements with electron donors. It is a weak, directional interaction that resembles hydrogen and halogen bonding yet remains barely explored. Herein, we present an experimental investigation of the carbon-centered, three-center, four-electron tetrel bond, [N−C− N]+ , formed by capturing a carbenium ion with a bidentate Lewis base.
