Prolonged-release buprenorphine formulations: Perspectives for clinical practice

International audience; Buprenorphine and methadone are the two main opioid agonist treatments approved for opioid use disorder. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist of the mu opioid receptors, which has been merely available through sublingual form until now. In practice, the use of buprenorphine is smoother than that of methadone, and it induces reduced risks of overdose. However, sublingual buprenorphine also exposes to risks (e.g., withdrawal, misuse) and constraints (e.g., daily intake). Furthermore, a lack of appropriate resources tackling the specific needs of migrants and refugees has put pressure on health care services [2]. In this regard, the European project EUVETCARE qualitatively explores how to strengthen care delivery for child migrants and refugees. Reduction of earwax with hypoacusia in Saharawi children

Summary We report case reports of earwax with hypoacusia (1.8%) in 270 Saharawi children, aged from 6 to 13 years, for a two-month period during the summer according to the “Holidays in Peace” program developed in collaboration with a local non-governmental organization (NGO). Our values are lower than those of other authors due to an initiative of systematic checks carried out by trained general doctors and nursing on children's hearing in Saharawi refugee camps in the last years.

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tarkastella geenimuunnelluista elintarvikkeista käytävää sanomalehtikeskustelua. Aikaisemmissa tutkimuksissa geenimuuntelua käsittelevää keskustelua on tutkittu usein jakamalla keskustelijat kahteen vastakkaiseen leiriin, myönteisesti ja kielteisesti suhtautuviin. Näkökulma peittää alleen enemmän tai vähemmän mielipiteestään epävarmojen keskustelijoiden joukon ja vahvistaa entisestään käsitystä ongelman teknisestä luonteesta. Tässä tutkimuksessa esiin pääsevät myös rintamalinjojen väliin sijoittuvat keskustelijat, usein varovaisen myönteisesti, mutta peruskriittisesti asennoituvat kansalaiset.
