Effects of ageing on peroxidase activity and localization in radish (Raphanus sativus L.) seeds.

Peroxidase activity was assayed in crude extracts of integument, cotyledons and embryo axis of radish seeds, deteriorated under accelerated ageing conditions. Over five days of ageing, in which germination decreased from 100 to 52%, the enzyme activity in integument was higher than that in other seed parts, increasing in the first days of ageing and then decreasing sharply in extremely aged seeds. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis showed four peroxidase isoenzymes with MM of 98, 52.5, 32.8 and 29.5 kDa in the embryo axis of unaged seeds, and only the 32.8 and 29.5 kDa MM isoforms in the integument and cotyledons. This paper reports on the development of montmorillonite (MMT)-reinforced hydrogels, based on a peptidomimetic polyamidoamine carrying guanidine pendants (AGMA1), as substrates for the osteo-induction of osteoblast precursor cells. AGMA1 hydrogels of various degrees of crosslinking responded favourably to MMT reinforcement, giving rise to composite hydrogels with shear storage modulus G', when fully swollen in water, up to 200 kPa, i.e. 20 times higher than the virgin hydrogels and of the same order or higher than other hydrogel-based composites proposed for orthopaedic applications. Homodimeric murine interleukin 3 (mIL-3) agonists were generated by intermolecular cystine-bonding. Steady-state binding assays and association kinetics performed at 4 degrees C using these agonists revealed specific binding to both the high- and low-affinity receptor. Se describe una nueva subespecie de Centaurea aspera L. (sect. Seridia (Juss.) DC., Asteraceae) procedente de las dunas fósiles del Parque Natural de Serra Gelada (L’Alfàs del Pi y Benidorm, Alicante, España). Se proporcionan datos morfológicos y ecológicos que permiten la diferenciación de la nueva subespecie con sus dos parientes cercanos C. aspera subsp. aspera y C. aspera subsp. stenophylla. Ces égodocuments, qui sont des oeuvres en collaboration, peuvent-ils encore être qualifiés d'autobiographies ? Faut-il parler d'allobiographies ? d'altrobiographies ? Par ailleurs, ces autobiographies père-fils ajoutent une nouvelle strate contractuelle à ce genre qui n'en manquait déjà pas : celle du modèle maussien du don et du contre-don.
