Profiles of mental well- and ill-being among elite athletes: Associations with sport-related demands and resources

The aim of the present study was to identify profiles of elite athlete mental well- and ill-being and study how the profiles (i.e., subgroups of athletes) differed in sport-related demands and resources. A total of 259 Finnish elite athletes (n = 170 active and n = 89 retired) completed quantitative self-report inventories. Through cluster analysis, four profiles of mental well- and ill-being were identified. Profile 1 was overrepresented by retired, older, and male athletes, and characterized by good mental well-being. The biosorption, i.e. a passive sequestering process by metabolically inactive biomass, shows a growing interest for toxic metal ions removal from contaminated aqueous solutions (1), such as municipal and industrial wastewaters. Polyamidoamines (PAAs) are biocompatible and biodegradable polymers with a huge potential as biomaterials for pharmaceutical applications. They are obtained by the step-wise aza-Michael polyaddition of bifunctional or multifunctional amines with bisacrylamides in water. Keski-iän työkyvyn on todettu olevan yhteydessä eläkeiän terveyteen ja toimintakykyyn, mut-ta aihetta on toistaiseksi tutkittu hyvin vähän. Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli selvittää keski-iän työkyvyn yhteyttä eläkeiässä havaittuihin mielenterveysongelmiin. Tämä tutkimus on osa vuosien 1981–2009 välillä kunta-alan työntekijöille toteutetusta tutki-muksesta. Alkututkimuksessa oli mukana 6 257 keski-ikäistä henkilöä eri ammateista eri puolil-ta Suomea. Mielenterveys- ja päihdekuntoutujien kotikuntoutus

Tutkielmassa on selvitetty kuntien kotisivuilta kerätyn internet-aineiston avulla, mitä varsin uusi ja tutkimaton palvelumuoto, kotikuntoutuspalvelu tarkoittaa, missä yhteydessä termiä on käytetty sekä millaiset sisällöt, kriteerit, asiakaskunta ja toimintamuodot palvelulle on annettu. Lisäksi tutkailemassa on tarkasteltu kotikuntoutukseen liittyviä tavoitteita ja odotuksia. Tutkimuksen analyysimenetelmänä on grounded theory. Kotikuntoutuskäsitteen ja siihen liittyvien tavoitteiden ja odotusten määrittäminen on hahmottunut kodin ja kuntoutuksen käsitteiden laajemman tarkastelun ja määritysten kautta.
