Vanhempien päihteidenkäytön nähdään vaarantavan lasten kehitystä monilla tavoilla. Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää päihdeongelmaisten vanhempien ajatuksia vanhemmuudestaan. Päihdeongelmalla tarkoitan tässä tutkielmassa niin alkoholin, huumeiden kuin lääkkeidenkin ongelmakäyttöä tai niiden sekakäyttöä. Tutkimuksen aineiston muodostaa kymmenen päihdepalvelusäätiö Sovatekin asiakkaiden haastattelua. Haastattelujen aihepiireinä ovat olleet vanhemmuus ja päihdeongelma. Bodily expressions of dominance in children's reasoning : an analysis of multimodal and sociometric data

This case study explores how two Hungarian children argue for their choices in a decision- making task in which they were asked to pick objects useful on a deserted island. The study involves an analysis of the multimodal data of the video-recorded tasks, carried out as pair-work, and sociometric background data that were collected in order to build an initial understanding of the participants’ social relations. The aim of the study is to discover how dominance relations manifest in bodily acts during reasoning. This article presents a theoretical framework for a holistic model of the development of early mathematical skills in early childhood education. The first aim of this study was to conduct a comprehensive international review of the literature to explore early mathematical skills categories. The literature review yielded three early mathematical skills categories, namely (1) numerical skills, (2) spatial thinking skills and (3) mathematical thinking and reasoning skills. Radiotherapy (RT) plays a key role in cancer treatment. Although the benefit of ionizing radiation (IR) is well established, some findings raise the possibility that irradiation of the primary tumor not only triggers a killing response but also increases the metastatic potential of surviving tumor cells. Here we addressed the question of whether irradiation of normal cells outside of the primary tumor augments metastasis by stimulating the extravasation of circulating tumor cells. We show that IR exposure of human endothelial cells (EC), tumor cells (TC) or both increases TC-EC adhesion in vitro. Tämän laadullisen tutkielman tarkoituksena oli tutkia ruotsin ja englannin välisen koodinvaihdon funktioita suomenruotsalaisessa nuorille suunnatussa radio-ohjelmassa. Tutkielman tavoitteena oli vastata seuraavaan tutkimuskysymykseen: mitä kommunikatiivisia funktioita ruotsin ja englannin välisellä koodinvaihdolla on suomenruotsalaisessa Succémorgon-radio-ohjelmassa? Tutkimusmateriaali koostui tutkittavana olleen radio-ohjelman viidestä satunnaisesti valitusta podcast-jaksosta huhtikuun ja elokuun väliseltä ajalta vuodelta 2015.
