Artikkelissa tarkastellaan 1800-luvun Keuruun käräjäkunnassa, sisäsuomalaisella maaseudulla eläneiden nuorten miesten ja naisten seurustelusuhteiden kehittymistä kohti avioliittoa ja sitä, kuinka tälle tielle alkoi kasautua ongelmia. Tutkimuksen ensisijaisena lähdeaineistona ovat miesten seurustelusuhteiden aikana kumppaneilleen lähettämät intiimit yksityiskirjeet (12 kappaletta), jotka naiset olivat tuoneet aviottoman lapsen elatusoikeudenkäynteihin todisteeksi suhteen aikaisesta seksuaalisesta kanssakäymisestä. Children in the visual coverage of the European refugee crisis: A case study of the World Press Photo 2016

Shifts in the visual coverage of refugees arriving in Europe and prominent compassion fatigue emphasize the need to examine visual strategies utilized to report on the crisis. This study focuses on representations of refugee children using a case of the World Press Photo (WPP) 2016. The material was interpreted with a model for visual rhetorical interpretation of journalistic photographs. Findings indicate the main visual elements involved in representing refugee children: visual trope of the migrant father, relation between children and barriers, visual oxymoron (juxtaposition of contradictory elements) and atmosphere in photographs. This paper explores how the risk related to the pandemic of COVID-19 was managed, narrated and perceived in Italy during the lockdown phase, from February until June 2020. Too much? Excessive sexual experiences in bisexual women’s life stories

This article explores bisexual women’s sexual experiences at the edges of or between relationships. It draws on the follow-up interviews of a longitudinal interview set conducted in 2005 and 2014–2015 with bisexual women and their partners, who do not identify as bisexuals. Bisexual women’s spontaneous, detailed and affective narrations of sexual experiences in the follow-up interviews caught the author’s attention. Although the experiences were often narrated as pleasurable, they could be overwhelming, and women also expressed concern that they were excessive, “too much”. Surrogacy relationships: a critical interpretative review

Abstract Based on a critical interpretative review of existing qualitative research investigating accounts of ‘lived experience’ of surrogates and intended parents from a relational perspective, this article proposes a typology of surrogacy arrangements. The review is based on the analysis of 39 articles, which belong to a range of different disciplines (mostly sociology, social psychology, anthropology, ethnology, and gender studies). The number of interviews in each study range from as few as seven to over one hundred.
