In Brussels in 1549 Charles V commissioned four bronze and four marble sculptures from Leone Leoni, to which were added new orders. The sculptor worked on them, especially the bronzes, in Milan, and they were shipped to Spain along with other works at the time of the arrival of the Emperor and the Court. This article discusses the history and evolution of the marbles and a bust (Prado Museum: E-260, E-262, E-267, E-269, E-291), which were sent from Genoa to Cartagena, where they remained until 1568. The State Archive of Genoa keeps one of the few drawings related to the reconfiguration projects of the Royal Palace of Palermo in modern age. It's a pen drawing, partly in watercolor, depicting partially the front and the pavement of a long open gallery to be realized in the new eastern façade of the palace; the plan is attached to the contract, signed March 14th 1567 in Genoa, where the sculptors Giacomo Guidetti and Antonio Carabio were commissioned to supply all the necessary marbles and floor surfaces to realize the loggia.

In 1385 Ferrer Saiol, protonotary of Queen Eleanor of Sicily, translated into Catalan Palladius’s Opus Agriculturae (‘The Work on Farming’). This Latin work was widely known throughout the whole of the Middle Ages, and therefore a translation of Opus Agriculturae was wanted in the fourteenth-century's Kingdom of Aragon. A difficult aspect of Opus Agriculturae is its technical vocabulary. Being aware of it, Ferrer Saiol referred in his translation to his use of numerous reference books to undertake the best possible version. Abstract The structure of [NH(CH3)3]3Sb2Cl9, tris(trimethylammonium) nonachlorodiantimonate(III) (TMACA) has been determined at 295 K and 373 K, below and above the high temperature ferro-paraelectric phase transition. In both phases the anionic sublattice of TMACA is built of characteristic two-dimensional (Sb2Cl93−)n polyanionic layers lying in the bc plane. In room temperature, ferroelectric phase (monoclinic, Pc space group) there are three crystallographically non-equivalent trimethylammonium [NH(CH3)3]+ cations. Two of them are located between polyanionic layers and the third one, disordered, inside the cavity formed by six SbCl63− octahedra. In the high temperature paraelectric phase…

The constants of ion-pair formation with 3-nitroaniline (3NO(2)A) for eight halogenoacetic acids (HAAs, 3a-h: TFA, TCA, TBA, DFA, DCA, DBA, MCA, and MBA), and five 2,2-dichloroalkanoic acids containing 3-8 carbon atoms (HAs, 5a-e: DCPA, DCBA, DCMBA, DCVA, and DCOA) have been determined in TOL at 298.1 K. The results obtained brought to evidence for HAAs the formation of ion-pairs with two different stoichiometries (base-acid, 1:1 or 1:2), while in contrast the HAs furnish only the 1:1 pairs. The different steric and electronic requirements of HAAs and HAs seem to be responsible for such an unlikely behavior.
