PURPOSE To develop a novel classification making full use of radiographic three-dimensional (3D) information to describe the position, geometric configuration of a mandibular third molar (M3M) and its spatial relation to neighboring structures such as the mandibular canal (MC). The classification presented in this study helps to establish a common language and serves as a framework for further studies, for example, on 3D parameters influencing prognosis of the M3M and level of difficulty associated with its removal. This thesis has two goals: the first one is to improve the control techniques in quantum mechanics, and more specifically in NMR, by using the tools of geometric optimal control. The second one is the study of the influence of Hamiltonian singularities in controlled systems. The chapter about optimal control study three classical problems of NMR : the inversion problem, the influence of the radiation damping term, and the steady state technique. Comparative morphometrics of sharpsnout seabream (Diplodus puntazzo Cetti, 1777), reared in different conditions

The same genetic stock of sharpsnout seabream (Diplodus puntazzo), cultured in different conditions (lot A, monoculture tank; lot B, monoculture offshore cage; lot C, polyculture tank), was analysed using geometric morphometrics in order to detect changes in shape. Rearing in the offshore cage (lot B) had a significant effect on shape variation when compared to rearing in the two enclosed tanks (A and C). Fish from the tanks show a higher frequency (43.7% in lot A and 37.5% in lot C) of the so-called ‘goitred’ and ‘dorsal flat’ forms, their deformations shown by displacements in the corresponding landmarks of the infraopercular and dorsal areas. Reconstruction of a scene is one of the key step to get the solution to that challenge. This paper will address a methodology to reconstruction underwater scenes with mosaicing techniques. Calculating the Homology of the Image

We introduce the alternating homology of a space with a symmetric group action, and give a new construction of the image computing spectral sequence (ICSS), which computes the homology of the image of a finite map from the alternating homology of its multiple point spaces. We illustrate and motivate the ICSS with simple examples.
