ABSTRACTIn this brief response to Migo and Westerberg we explain why we think that their criticism of our previous research showing familiarity deficits in mild cognitive impairment patients (MCI) is not sound. More concretely, we have replicated the effect several times previously, and we justify statistically the fact that in the previous paper we had to combine two MCI samples to demonstrate a reliable familiarity deficit. Resume Dans le prolongement des recherches montrant l’efficacite de l’hypnose dans l’accompagnement therapeutique de la douleur, le developpement de l’imagerie cerebrale a recemment permis des avancees dans la comprehension des processus cognitifs sous-jacents au phenomene hypnotique. Il en ressort notamment que le fonctionnement attentionnel et executif peut etre module de facon importante grâce : a l’induction hypnotique en etat de conscience modifiee ; aux suggestions hypnotiques utilisees par l’hypnotherapeute.
