Photodegradation of Toluene, m-Xylene, and n-Butyl Acetate and Their Mixtures over TiO2 Catalyst on Glass Fibers

The abatement of typical paint solvent compounds as individuals and in mixtures was carried out in an annular TiO2 supported reactor, for concentrations up to 900 mg C m–3. Two different fiberglass supports were compared, and the catalyst supported over a fiber mat showed better performance, with a lower pressure drop (>35% of reduction) and a slightly higher removal efficiency (about 2%) than that supported over glass wool. For every target compound in the whole range of relative humidity studied (4–75%), the photocatalytic activity increased with the air water content. As systemic application may cause severe adverse effects, approaches of liver-directed IFNgamma gene therapy may represent an attractive alternative for treatment of chronic viral hepatitis B and thus needs testing in vivo in suitable animal models. This work pretends to show the actual situation of women in relation to the possibility to gain leadership positions, as well as to explain the metaphors used to represent this situation. The metaphors analyzed are: the concrete wall, glass ceiling and labyrinth (Eagly & Carli, 2007). Also, this work tries to show the transformations which occurs in social groups, social roles and organizations, which favors women to gain the high level positions in those organizations.

International audience; During industrial glass production processes, the actual distribution of stress components in the glass during scribing remains, to date, poorly quantified, and thus continues to be challenging to model numerically. In this work, we experimentally quantified the effect of pressure and temperature on the viscosity of SCHOTT N-BK7 glass, by performing in situ deformation experiments at temperatures between 550 and 595 °C and confining pressures between 100 MPa and 300 MPa. This paper aims to propose and characterize a sustainable hydraulic mortar entirely obtained by the reuse of waste materials, with marble slurry coming from quarries in the north-western Sicily and glass powder coming from a waste collection plant in Marsala (Province of Trapani). The first was used as raw material to produce the mortar binder by a kilning and slaking process, while the second was used as a pozzolanic additive. Investigation of the Na2O/Ag2O ratio on the synthesis conditions and properties of the 80TeO2–10ZnO–[(10−x)Na2O–xAg2O] glasses

International audience; Properties of the tellurite glasses 80TeO2–10ZnO–[(10−x)Na2O–xAg2O] are investigated as a function of the substitution ratio x between Na2O and Ag2O. One observe that the variation of glass transition temperature decreases monotonously with x and that surface crystallization mechanism is favored. The assignment of the Raman bands and their relation with the underlying glass structure is discussed. While both Na2O and Ag2O oxides act as glass network modifiers, their progressive equimolar substitution does not lead to a meaningful evolution in the structure of the TZ[Na10-xAgx] glass.
