Abstract Soybean DAS‐44406‐6 expresses 5‐enolpyruvyl‐shikimate‐3‐phosphate synthase (2mEPSPS), conferring tolerance to glyphosate‐based herbicides, aryloxyalkanoate dioxygenase (AAD‐12), conferring tolerance to 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4‐D) and other related phenoxy herbicides, and phosphinothricin acetyl transferase (PAT), conferring tolerance to glufosinate ammonium‐based herbicides. Why betaine crystallizes in high local C s symmetry. An ab initio MO and DFT study of anhydrous betaine and betaine monohydrate

A theoretical study of the structure, charge distribution, rotational barrier and fundamental vibrations of anhydrous betaine (CH3)3NCH2COO (trimethylglycine) was carried out and compared with available experimental data. Calculations were carried out at HF, MP2 and B3LYP levels using a 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The calculated rotational barrier of the betaine carboxylic group is 40.5 kJ/mol at the MP4(SDQ)/6-311G(d,p)//HF/6-31+G(d,p) level of theory. The rotation of the carboxylic group changes the molecule from a highly symmetric (C s ) conformation into a twisted conformation resulting in shortening of the molecule by about 50 pm. Neurotransmitters and neuronal activity affect neurodevelopmental events like neurogenesis, neuronal migration, apoptosis and differentiation. Beside glutamate and gamma-amino butyric acid, the aminosulfonic acid taurine has been considered as possible neurotransmitter that influences early neuronal development. In this article I review recent studies of our group which demonstrate that taurine can affect a variety of identified neuronal populations in the immature neocortex and directly modulates neuronal activity. Role of glycine-82 as a pivot point during the transition from the inactive to the active form of the yeast Ras2 protein

AbstractRas proteins bind either GDP or GTP with high affinity. However, only the GTP-bound form of the yeast Ras2 protein is able to stimulate adenylyl cyclase. To identify amino acid residues that play a role in the conversion from the GDP-bound to the GTP-bound state of Ras proteins, we have searched for single amino acid substitutions that selectively affected the binding of one of the two nucleotides. We have found that the replacement of glycine-82 of the Ras2 protein by serine resulted in an increased rate of dissociation of Gpp(NH)p, a nonhydrolysable analog of GTP, while the GDP dissociation rate was not significantly modified. L'andamento della attivazione della glicina e stato seguito sino alla neurulazione. Il quantitativo di amino acidi attivati e minimo nell'uovo vergine, esso aumenta rapidamente dopo la fecondazione. Durante la gastrulazione la attivazione della glicina raggiunge i valori maggiori.

The purpose of this study was to investigate in greater detail the transport of two herbicides, used in Christmas tree production in the Morvan, under controlled laboratory conditions.
