More indefinite integrals from Riccati equations

2019

ABSTRACTTwo new methods for obtaining indefinite integrals of a special function using Riccati equations are presented. One method uses quadratic fragments of the Riccati equation, the solutions of...

Solving coupled Riccati matrix differential systems

1991

Abstract We start by noting that coupled Riccati matrix differential systems appearing in differential games may be considered as a single rectangular Riccati equation. An explicit solution of the coupled differential system in terms of a solution of the associated algebraic Riccati equation is given.

On Functions of Integrable Mean Oscillation

2005

Given we denote by the modulus of mean oscillation given by where is an arc of , stands for the normalized length of , and . Similarly we denote by the modulus of harmonic oscillation given by where and stand for the Poisson kernel and the Poisson integral of respectively. It is shown that, for each , there exists such that

Major palaeohydrographic changes in Alpine foreland during the Pliocene - Pleistocene

2008

International audience; The changing palaeogeographical pattern of Alpine deposits across the European forelands can be traced by identifying mineral assemblages and establishing the chronology of Pliocene-Pleistocene deposits in Alpine foreland. In the late Miocene, the upper courses of the Rhine and the Aar flowed east from the Swiss molasse plain towards the Danube. In the early Pliocene (Brunssumian, 5-3.2 Ma), these same rivers headed north-wards towards the Rhine Graben of Alsace. In the early Reuverian, these streams were captured south of the Rhine Graben by the Doubs. They ceased their northward flow and headed west to feed the Bresse Graben. This phase is dated to the Lower and Mi…

Sombras en el Siglo de las Luces, monstruos, demonios y prodigios en la estampería popular del siglo XVIII

1993

LOS ESTUDIOS DE CONJUNTO DE LA ESTAMPA POPULAR SON ESCASOS EN ESPAÑA, ABUNDANDO MUCHO MAS, COMO OCURRE CON OTRAS AREAS CULTURALES, EN LOS ESTUDIOS DE LITERATURA O FOLKLORE. MUY INTERESANTES SON LAS ILUSTRACIONES IMPRESAS DE LA LLAMADA LITERATURA DE CORDEL, QUE ECLOSIONA EN EL SIGLO XVIII Y TIENE COMO CENTRO PRINCIPAL DE PRODUCCION LA CIUDAD DE VALENCIA. EN LAS XILOGRAFIAS DE LAS CABECERAS DE LOS ROMANCES DESFILAN MONSTRUOS, ANIMALES FANTASTICOS, SERES DEMONIACOS, VISIONES CELESTIALES Y TODA UNA SERIE DE IMAGENES SOMBRIAS DE RAICES BARROCAS E INCLUSO MEDIEVALES, QUE CONTRASTAN CON LOS GUSTOS RACIONALISTAS QUE DOMINABAN EN LA CULTURA OFICIAL (ABC/LAG).

Topological Dual Systems for Spaces of Vector Measure p-Integrable Functions

2016

[EN] We show a Dvoretzky-Rogers type theorem for the adapted version of the q-summing operators to the topology of the convergence of the vector valued integrals on Banach function spaces. In the pursuit of this objective we prove that the mere summability of the identity map does not guarantee that the space has to be finite dimensional, contrary to the classical case. Some local compactness assumptions on the unit balls are required. Our results open the door to new convergence theorems and tools regarding summability of series of integrable functions and approximation in function spaces, since we may find infinite dimensional spaces in which convergence of the integrals, our vector value…

Wronskian Addition Formula and Darboux-Pöschl-Teller Potentials

2013

For the famous Darboux-Pöschl-Teller equation, we present new wronskian representation both for the potential and the related eigenfunctions. The simplest application of this new formula is the explicit description of dynamics of the DPT potentials and the action of the KdV hierarchy. The key point of the proof is some evaluation formulas for special wronskian determinant.

Integrable models and degenerate horizons in two-dimensional gravity

1999

We analyse an integrable model of two-dimensional gravity which can be reduced to a pair of Liouville fields in conformal gauge. Its general solution represents a pair of ``mirror'' black holes with the same temperature. The ground state is a degenerate constant dilaton configuration similar to the Nariai solution of the Schwarzschild-de Sitter case. The existence of $\phi=const.$ solutions and their relation with the solution given by the 2D Birkhoff's theorem is then investigated in a more general context. We also point out some interesting features of the semiclassical theory of our model and the similarity with the behaviour of AdS$_2$ black holes.
