Discussions of Fatherhood in Male Batterer Treatment Group

The aim of this study was to examine how men who have perpetrated violence toward their partners and participated in batterer group talked about being a father and how they perceived their own fatherhood. The discussion in the group was analyzed qualitatively by using the methods of content analysis. In traditional fatherhood, they talked about avoidant, passiveness, distant, indifference, and authoritative controlling ways of acting. These men also created an image of themselves as active and caring fathers, thus including empathy and nurture in the concept of fatherhood. Tämä osaraportti esittelee Jyväskylän yliopiston yhteistyössä Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitoksen (THL) kanssa toteuttaman Varhaiskasvatus ja koronapandemia -hankkeen kyselytutkimuksen perusteella noin viisivuotiaiden lasten hoito- ja varhaiskasvatusjärjestelyitä vuoden 2020 aikana. Hanketta rahoittaa Jyväskylän yliopiston osalta Opetus ja kulttuuriministeriö. THL:n osalta rahoitus perustuu lisämäärärahaan, jonka eduskunta myönsi THL:lle koronaepidemian yhteiskunnallisten vaikutusten tutkimukseen. Background: Children’s first years of life are crucial to their future health. Studies show that a varied diet with a high intake of vegetables is positive in several domains of health. The present low vegetable intake amongst children is, therefore, a concern. Food neophobia is a common barrier to vegetable intake in children. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää Keski-Suomen alueella toteutettuun ryhmäohjaukseen osallistuneiden ryhmäläisten kasvisten syömistä 12 kuukauden aikana. Tavoitteena oli tutkia tuoreiden kasvisten, kypsennettyjen kasvisten sekä hedelmien ja marjojen käyttöä ja niiden syönnissä tapahtunutta muutosta. Lisäksi selvitettiin, miten sukupuoli, paino, painoindeksi, vyötärönympärys ja elämäntilanne ovat yhteydessä kasvisten syömiseen sekä miten yksilön aikomus muuttaa ruokakäyttäytymistä vaikuttaa itse muutoksen tekemiseen. Online support for vulnerable consumers: a safe place?

Purpose This paper aims to examine the service experience in an online support community of consumers to understand the nature of social support and how it is experienced and enacted by vulnerable consumers. Design/methodology/approach A netnographic study was conducted to examine vulnerable consumers’ participation in an online support group for weight management. Tässä pilottitutkimuksessa selvitettiin sana-assosiaatioiden koheesiota ryhmissä. Tarkoituksena oli selvittää, löytyykö yhtenäisyyttä ryhmän keskinäisen toimeen tulemisen välillä ja sen suhteen, kuinka ryhmät assosioivat sanoja. Assosiaatioiden koheesion mittaamisessa käytettiin pohjatietona muistiteorioita ja verkkoteoriaa. Koehenkilöt olivat Jyväskylän yliopistossa järjestetyn kurssin oppilaita, jotka jakaantuivat ryhmiin. Kurssin aluksi ensimmäiset assosiaatiotehtävät teetettiin oppilailla. The aim of this article is to explore multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups (PMGs) facilitated by senior academics as a knowledge sharing practice in doctoral education.
