Minimum cause--maximum effect: the travelogue of a bullet.

This case report involves a 57-year-old male, accidentally shot in the chest with a small bore firearm. The bullet entered the left hemithorax, disrupting the left internal mammarian artery. It then penetrated the anterior wall of the right ventricle causing a pericardial tamponade. After leaving the base of the right heart it perforated the diaphragm, the liver, the spleen and the pancreas. Finally, it penetrated the abdominal aorta 3 cm proximally to the coeliac trunk and reached its final position paravertebrally. Background Many arboviruses transmitted by mosquitoes have been implicated as causative agents of both human and animal illnesses in East Africa. Although epidemics of arboviral emerging infectious diseases have risen in frequency in recent years, the extent to which mosquitoes maintain pathogens in circulation during inter-epidemic periods is still poorly understood. Abstract An ion beam cooler for mass-separated radioactive ion beams has been developed and tested at the IGISOL-type mass separator facility. Technical description and characteristic properties are presented. An energy spread below 1 eV and transmission efficiency of 60% were measured.

El presente artículo analiza la evolución de la II República Española desde su proclamación hasta el 18 de julio de 1936 desde el punto de vista de los documentos diplomáticos y los principales periódicos estadounidenses. En medio de la gran depresión de los años 30 y los primeros ensayos del New Deal, los diplomáticos estadounidenses pasan del miedo al comunismo de la administración de Herbert Hoover a realzar la evolución democrática y no centralista de la República Española en contraste con el panorama europeo, durante la administración de Franklin D. Roosevelt. Sin embargo desde octubre de 1934 aumentan sus temores a un golpe de Estado y una guerra civil subsiguiente. (A)

It is no coincidence that the necessary developing infrastructures were consolidated around it for an optimal development: higher quality viae or better port platforms. Different type of streets emerged following an order of importance depending many times on the wealth of their users. Towards the exit of the city burial monuments were placed honoring relevant citizens. As many other major towns of Hispania, Saguntum is not an exception of great transformations.
