Par godu ķīmiķa organiķa Gustava Vanaga (1891-1965) 130. dzimšanas gada dienai apkopota profesora Vanaga biogrāfija, kurā iekļauta informācija no Gustavam Vanagam veltītajām biogrāfijas grāmatām un Latvijas ķīmijas vēstures muzeja krājumā esošajiem memoriālajiem materiāliem.

International audience; Dans les années 1860, parallèlement à sa virulente opposition au Second Empire, Gustave Courbet produit des tableaux, pamphlets et illustrations qui servent son combat anticlérical. En écho au Retour de la conférence, refusé pour immoralité au Salon de 1863 et au Salon des Refusés – l’œuvre montre un cortège de curés ivres –, le peintre publie en 1868 un opuscule, Les Curés en goguette, illustré de six dessins qu’il conçoit comme une extension de son tableau original et comme une intervention polémique, à caractère satirique, dans la tradition de la caricature anticléricale. Mais cette suite d’images, jusqu’alors peu étudiée, croise d’autres préoccupations de Courbet…
Klimt artwork: red-pigment material investigation by backscattering Fe-57 Mössbauer spectroscopy, SEM and p-XRF

Material tests were performed on a rediscovered Klimt-artwork "Trompetender Putto". We performed studies on the red colored spots, mainly taken from non-restored parts. MIMOS II Fe-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy (novelty in art-pigment analysis) mainly reveals haematite and crystallized goethite in red colors. Electron microscopy can identify various layers of the original and overpainting of an artwork. The number of layers fluctuates between three and four chemically painted areas. The portable X-ray fluorescence analysis enables to reduce the pigment list to containing mercury (cinnabar), lead, zinc, iron and titanium. Infrared-light-irradiation visualizes the different age of the pigments.

We shall be taking an innovative and original approach in our examination of the insuperable figure of Giacomo Serpotta, an outstanding Sicilian stucco sculptor of the 18th century. The complete artistic output of Giacomo Serpotta is traced, oscillating between the sacred and the profane in the sculptural adornment of many churches and oratories. Here, Giacomo Serpotta shifts from the Baroque to Rococo, originating a sculptural art that is profoundly innovative in its language and symbology. En este artículo comparo la primera y última edición de la Introducción de la ciencia del derecho de Gustav Radbruch. Me centro en aquellos aspectos que bosquejan su concepto de derecho, a saber, la relación entre derecho y moral, su modelo de Estado y la creación judicial del derecho. El resultado está determinado por la circunstancia vital e histórica de las dos ediciones: la primera publicada antes de la IGM, siendo Radbruch un joven docente en Heidelberg; la última fue redactada ya en la República de Weimar, habiendo ocupado la cartera de Justicia y siendo un reconocido jurista.

Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkotas idejas par pagātnes interpretāciju, kultūras mantojuma procesiem un praksi, kā arī tiek skaidrota muzeja definīcija, muzeja misija un konstruktīvisma definīcija. Tiek apskatīta latviešu mākslinieku darbība ārpus Latvijas ̶ Padomju Krievijā 20.gs. 20.–30. gados, Kluča personība Latvijai un latviešiem, un viņa radošā mantojuma kolekcijas izveidošana Latvijā.
