Mediterranean wetlands are severely affected by habitat degradation and related loss of biodiversity. In this scenario, the wide number of artificial farm ponds can play a significant role in the biodiversity conservation of aquatic flora. In the present contribution we show the preliminary results of a study on Mediterranean farm ponds of north-western Sicily (Italy), aimed to investigating the environmental factors linked to the occurrence of submerged macrophytes (vascular plants and charophytes). Bakalaura darbs “Kapitālu transformēšana: I. Ziedoņa topošā muzeja gadījums” ir pētījums par muzeja izveides procesu, apskatot kādi aspekti iezīmējas kā būtiski muzeja institūcijas izveidē un kādas kapitālu transformācijas var tikt vērojamas tās laikā. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot kā caur praksēm un zināšanu plūsmām notiek muzeja intstitūcijas izveides process, konkrētajā gadījumā - I. Ziedoņa topošais muzejs, apskatot to kapitālu transformāciju kontekstā. Pētījuma rezultāti ļauj spriest par I. Ziedoņa topošā muzeja izveides procesu kā zināšanu apmaiņas un stratēģisku prakšu kopumu, kurā tiek transformēti ekonomikas, kultūras, sociālais un simboliskais kapitāls.
Predicting physical distancing over time during COVID-19 : testing an integrated model

Objective: We applied an integrated social cognition model to predict physical distancing behavior, a key COVID-19 preventive behavior, over a four-month period. Design: A three-wave longitudinal survey design. Methods: Australian and US residents (N = 601) completed self-report measures of social cognition constructs (attitude, subjective norm, moral norm, perceived behavioral control [PBC]), intention, habit, and physical distancing behavior on an initial occasion (T1) and on two further occasions one week (T2) and four months (T3) later. Stan zdrowotny drzew i jakość siedliska na terenie miasta Oświęcim

Celem przeprowadzonych w 2011 r. badań było określenie zdrowotności wybranych drzew miejskich oraz jakości ich siedliska (za pomocą dwóch prostych metod), a następnie scharakteryzowanie występujących między nimi zależności. Analizą objęto 5 obszarów miasta Oświęcim różniących się między sobą warunkami siedliskowymi. Kondycję zdrowotną drzew wyznaczono na podstawie skali zdrowotności opracowanej przez J. Dudę, natomiast jakość siedliska określana była w oparciu o zmodyfikowaną przez Mazuruk oraz autorów artykułu skalę, zaproponowaną przez Jendrzejczak, Buczkowską, Chojnacką. Search, Nash Bargaining and Rule of Thumb Consumers

This paper analyses the effects of introducing typical Keynesian features, namely rule-of-thumb consumers and consumption habits, into a standard labour market search model. It is a well-known fact that labour market matching with Nash-wage bargaining improves the ability of the standard real business cycle model to replicate some of the cyclical properties featuring the labour market. However, when habits and rule-of-thumb consumers are taken into account, the labour market search model gains extra power to reproduce some of the stylised facts characterising the US labour market, as well as other business cycle facts concerning aggregate consumption and investment behaviour.
