The Effect of Halogen Bonding on the Packing of Bromine Substituted Pyridine and Benzyl Functionalized Resorcinarene Tetrapodands in the Solid State

The synthesis and characterization of new bromine-substituted pyridine and benzyl functionalized tetramethoxy resorcinarene tetrapodands are described and their solid-state structural properties and interactions were studied by single crystal X-ray crystallography. Three different crystal structures were obtained for the pyridine derivative and one for the benzyl derivative, which revealed that the interactions of the bromine substituent have an explicit effect on the crystal packing of the resorcinarene molecules. Ģenētiskās izmaiņas pārmantotās melanomas pacientiem Latvijā

Melanoma ir multifaktoriāla slimība, kas attīstās ādas pigmenta šūnu, melanocītu, nekontrolētas dalīšanās rezultātā. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija izvērtēt izmaiņas augsta un vidēja riska melanomas jutības gēnos pacientiem, kuru anamnēzē ir vairāki saslimšanas gadījumi ar melanomu vai arī saslimšanas gadījumi ar aizkuņģa dziedzera audzēju vai nervu sistēmas audzēju. Kopā darbā izanalizēti 39 melanomas pacienti, 9 pacientu ģimenes locekļi un viens pacients ar acs melanomu. Ar paralēlo daudzķēžu sekvenēšanas metodi izanalizētajos 4 gēnos (BAP1, POT1, CDKN2A un MC1R) kopumā atrastas 11 nomaiņas. Papildus 3 analizētajos gēnos (TERT, CDK4 un MITF) izmaiņas atrastas netika. This article is the second part of a literature review concerning diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) and the use of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (PDT). PDT involves the topical application of a photosensitiser into the tissue, followed by illumination that induces the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). PDT provides bacterial inactivation and promotes wound healing, and it can be used to manage the infection and microbial colonisation of DFUs. It has pivotal advantages in comparison with chemotherapeutics, such as no potential to induce resistance, and a wide spectrum of activity. Experiments and simulations [2,3] on carboxy-myoglobin (MbCO) showed that the protein dynamics is highly inhibited in dry trehalose matrices, the inhibition being dependent on the water content. Can cystic lesions of the jaws be considered as the cause of mandibular asymmetry?

The aim of this study is to investigate the presence of condylar and ramal asymmetry in patients with a cyst larger than 10 mm in the maxilla or mandible. Condylar and ramal asymmetry index measurements of 47 patients (mean age: 28.85 ± 15.348) in the study group and 40 patients in the control group (mean age: 33.73 ± 13.095) were performed using panoramic radiographs. The study group consists of patients with cysts larger than 10 mm in diameter in the maxilla or mandible. The control group consisted of patients with no radiolucent lesions and no history of trauma. En aquest marc d’irregularitat ambiental, s’establí la resposta de germinació integrada en el cicle vital de l’espècie herbàcia halòfita Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum L. per tal d’avançar en el coneixement del funcionament d’aquests ambients salins i així poder abordar futurs programes de conservació vegetal en praderies salines. Zbadano aktywność katalityczną oktakarboksyftalocyjaniny kobaltu (CoPcOC), żelaza (FePcOC) i miedzi (CuPcOC) w aerobowym utlenianiu 2-tioetanolu, siarczku sodu i L-cysteiny. Kompleksy kobaltu i żelaza okazały się efektywnymi katalizatorami homofazowymi tych reakcji. Na aktywność katalityczną wpływ mają takie czynniki, jak rodzaj skompleksowanego metalu, pH, asocjacja ftalocyjanin w roztworze.
