Shape evolution in even-even N≤126, Z≥82 nuclei

The shape evolution in the neutron-de cient lead, polonium and radium nuclei has been investigated via in-beam and delayed y-ray and conversion electron spectroscopy. The lead isotope 180Pb is found to still exhibit prolate excited structure, related to the known intruder structures in the heavier isotopes. The production cross-section of 180Pb was only 10 nb, one of the lowest ever employed in an in-beam experiment. A candidate for an excited prolate band was found in 192Po, making it the rst polonium isotope for which both oblate and prolate rotational bands have been established. Kirjallisen osion tarkoituksena on esitellä sappihappojen aminohappo- ja oligopeptidikonjugaatteja ja niiden synteettistä valmistusta sekä perehtyä niiden erilaisiin käyttömahdollisuuksiin. Sappihappojen aminohappo- ja oligopeptidikonjugaateista valmistetut makrosykliset rakenteet voivat toimia mm. rakenneosina lääkekehityksessä, materiaalikemiassa ja supramolekyylikemiassa. Sappihappo- ja aminohappokonjugaatteja on tutkittu myös ionikuljettimina, reseptoreina ja gelaattoreina.Tutkielman kokeellisen osion tarkoituksena oli valmistaa sappihappojen aminoetyy-liamidien ja L-proliinin konjugaatteja sekä tutkia niiden geelinmuodostusominaisuuksia eri liuottimissa.

Purpose: To examine the influence of menstrual cycle (MC) and hormonal contraceptive (HC) cycle phases on physiological variables monitored during incremental treadmill testing in physically active women (eumenorrheic, EUM = 16 and monophasic HC-users, CHC = 12). Methods: Four running tests to exhaustion were performed at bleeding, mid follicular (mid FOL)/active 1, ovulation/active 2, and mid luteal (mid LUT)/inactive. Non-linear interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene : photo-oxidation, imaging and photodynamics

This thesis presents a study focused on interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with graphene, a one atom thick carbon membrane. Graphene, which exhibits exceptional electronic and optoelectronic properties, could provide considerable advantage over current silicon-based electronics. Graphene alone, being semi-metal, is not sufficient for electronic applications, but requires modification. For this, a set of methods for modifying and measuring the properties of graphene was developed. With the perspective of making graphene a suitable component for electronics, optoelectronics or photonics, ultrashort laser pulses were used for drawing patterns on graphene. Oxidovanadium(v) complexes with l-proline-based amino acid phenolates

Abstract l -proline was used to prepare chiral, tridentate amino acid phenol proligands H2L1–4. These proligands react with vanadium precursors VO(acac)2, VOSO4∙5H2O and VO(OPr)3 in methanol to form the corresponding oxidoalkoxidovanadium( v ) complexes 1–4. The complexes crystallize from methanol, and are octahedrally coordinated with a general formula [VO(L1–4)(OMe)(MeOH)]. In solution, however, they adopt several different conformations or isomeric structures depending on the solvent.

Anther culture in Citrus clementina: a way to regenerate tri-haploids

Abstract. Regenerants from anther culture of Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan. cvv. Nules, SRA 63, and Monreal were obtained in different experiments from 1994 to 2002. Genetic analysis of 37 such regenerants was carried out using 4 microsatellite markers that were heterozygous in the parental genotypes. The results showed that in all cases but one the regenerants carried only one or the other allele of the parental genotype, and were therefore homozygous and produced through a process of gametophytic embryogenesis. Ploidy analysis by flow cytometry of 94 regenerants showed that as many as 82% of them were tri-haploids, rather than haploids or doubled-haploids as expected, with other ploidy …
