Objective: To investigate the possible association between birth size and cord concentrations of some organochlorine compounds (OCs), including 4,4′-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), 4,4′-1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis(p-dichlorodiphenyl)ethylene (DDE), hexachlorobenzene (HCB), β-hexachlorocyclohexane (β-HCH), 4 polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners (118, 138, 153, and 180), and their sum (ΣPCBs) in a birth cohort in Valencia, Spain. MathCheck is a relatively new online tool that gives students feedback on their solutions to elementary university mathematics and theoretical computer science exercises. MathCheck was designed with constructivism learning theory in mind and it differs from other online tools as it checks the solutions step by step and shows a counter-example if the step is incorrect. Extremely fast Holocene coastal landscape evolution in the Kachchh Upland (NW India): Clues from a multidisciplinary review

The coastal landscape of the Kachchh Upland (KU) region (NW-India) changed over the last few thousand years from a shallow marine gulf to a salty desert (1-4 meters asl). In this area, bordered to the south by the Northern Hill Range (NHR), the tectonic-climatic interaction triggered the sea level fall from +2/4 m circa (6000-2000 BP) to zero. An ancient river pattern deposited a tidally regulated delta area during the sea level fall that stopped 2000-3000 years ago due to tectonic activity and a dry climate. CHCH10 mutations in an Italian cohort of familial and sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients

Mutations in CHCHD10 have recently been described as a cause of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) comorbid with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The aim of this study was to assess the frequency and clinical characteristics of CHCHD10 mutations in Italian patients diagnosed with familial (n= 64) and apparently sporadic ALS (n= 224). Three apparently sporadic patients were found to carry c.100C>T (p.Pro34Ser) heterozygous variant in the exon 2 of CHCHD10. This mutation had been previously described in 2 unrelated French patients with FTD-ALS. Pro gradu -tutkielmassani tarkastelen Tehching Hsieh'n pitkäkestoisia performanssiteoksia, jotka taiteilija toteutti New Yorkissa vuosien 1978-2000 aikana. Ensimmäisessä vuoden mittaisessa performanssissa Hsieh sulkeutui virikkeettömään selliin, toisessa leimasi kellokorttia tasatunnein 24 kertaa vuorokaudessa. Kolmannen vuoden hän vietti menemättä kertaakaan sisätiloihin ja neljännen sidottuna köydellä kiinni toiseen performanssitaiteilijaan. Viidennen vuoden Hsieh lupasi olla olematta missään tekemisissä taiteen kanssa.
