Pharmaceuticals in processing of municipal sewage sludge studied by grab and passive sampling

Abstract Concentrations of pharmaceuticals, consisting of four anti-inflammatory and one antiepileptic drug, were studied in the aqueous and solid phase of municipal sewage sludge, collected from a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in central Finland. The samples included untreated municipal sludge from the biological wastewater treatment, digested sludge and sludge before and after composting. First, samples were taken as grab samples to study the bioavailable part in aqueous phase but also the part in solid fraction. ObjectiveAtrial fibrillation (AF) has emerged as a common condition in older adults. Cardiovascular risk factors only explain about 50% of AF cases. Inflammatory biomarkers may help close this gap as inflammation can alter atrial electrophysiology and structure. There are many vantage points from which to gain a perspective on digital culture. The intersection of mathematics and mathematical tools with all things digital is one such vantage point. This implies an inspection of mathematical software. The broad lines that can be taken are the practice, education and application of mathematics. This thesis focuses on practice and application, disregarding education. The Use of Question Modification Strategies to Differentiate Instruction in Eritrean Mathematics and Science Classrooms

This qualitative study aimed at examining the question modification strategies Eritrean elementary and middle school teachers used to differentiate their instruction and meet the diversity in the classroom as well as the functions these strategies served in classroom interactions. The research data consisted of videotaped recordings (N = 11 videotaped lessons) of classroom interactions in eight mathematics and science classrooms, which were analysed through interaction analysis. Matkailujournalismia on Suomessa tutkittu vähän. Maailmalla matkailujournalismin tutkimus on kuitenkin lisääntynyt koko ajan. Matkajournalismin katsotaan ulkomaanuutisten tapaan kehystävän meitä ja muita, eli kertovan lukijoille maailmasta ja näin luovan myös lukijoiden identiteettiä. Turistien määrä kasvaa koko ajan, joten matkailujournalismilla on yhä enemmän lukijoita. Se myös kiinnostaa mainostajia. Matkailujournalismin kuvataankin olevan mielenkiintoisesti informaation ja viihteen, mainonnan ja journalismin välissä. Samalla se kehystää vieraita kulttuureja.
