On-chip purification of arc-discharge synthesized multiwalled carbon nanotubes via mobile liquid interface

This thesis reports a novel approach for purification of carbon nanotube (CNT) samples deposited on smooth silicon substrates through a mobile liquid interface interacting with carbonaceous debris particles that contaminate the deposition. The method is based on physical interaction of the particles and the three-phase contact line via capillary interface forces, i.e. the surface tension, which results in the detachment of chemically indispersible colloids from the sample surface. Habitat area and local habitat conditions outweigh fragmentation effects on insect communities in vineyards

Fragmentation of habitat, for example by intensive agricultural practices, can be detrimental to local biodiversity. However, it often remains unclear whether such biodiversity declines are caused by loss of habitat area or increased fragmentation, and how habitat quality factors into it. The Norwegian authorities started a nationwide free school fruit program in 2007, implemented in all secondary schools (grades 8–10) and combined schools (grades 1–10) in Norway. The program ended in 2014. This study evaluates the effect of ending the nationwide free school fruit program on the consumption of fruit, vegetables, and unhealthy snacks among Norwegian sixth and seventh graders. Teachers’ occupational well-being in relation to teacher–student interactions at the lower secondary school level

This study investigated the relation between teachers’ occupational well-being and the quality of teacher–student interactions in lower secondary schools in Finland. Teachers (N = 48) self-rated their occupational well-being in terms of engagement, stress, job demands, and emotional exhaustion. Teacher–student interactions in classrooms were video-recorded and coded with the Classroom Assessment Scoring System. This study contributes to the literature on the supervisors’ role in employee well-being by drawing on two separate lines of research: transformational leadership and organizational justice.
