Synthesis and X-ray Crystal Structure of New Substituted 3-4′-Bipyrazole Derivatives. Hirshfeld Analysis, DFT and NBO Studies

A new compounds named 3-4′-bipyrazoles 2 and 3 were synthesized in high chemical yield from a reaction of pyran-2,4-diketone 1 with aryl hydrazines under thermal conditions in MeOH. Compound 2 was unambiguously confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis. It crystalizes in a triclinic crystal system and space group P-1. Its crystal structure was found to be in good agreement with the spectral characterizations. With the aid of Hirshfeld calculations, the H…H (54.8–55.3%) and H…C (28.3–29.2%) intermolecular contacts are the most dominant, while the O…H (5.8–6.5%), N…H (3.8–4.6%) and C…C (3.0–4.9%) are less dominant. Four different new Schiff basses tethered indolyl-triazole-3-thione hybrid were designed and synthesized. X-ray single crystal structure, tautomerism, DFT, NBO and Hirshfeld analysis were explored. X-ray crystallographic investigations with the aid of Hirshfeld calculations were used to analyze the molecular packing of the studied systems. The H···H, H···C, S···H, Br···C, O···H, C···C and N···H interactions are the most important in the molecular packing of 3. In case of 4, the S···H, N···H, S···C and C···C contacts are the most significant. Metal-Organic Nanocapsules with Functionalized s-Heptazine Ligands.

A metalloorganic capsule was synthesized where the ligand is a derivative of heptazine with three carboxylic groups that are coordinated to CuII cations, forming paddle-wheel motifs. Each nanocapsule is neutral, with 12 CuII centers and 8 ligands adopting a rhombicuboctahedron shape. It has almost 3 nm diameter, and the main intermolecular interactions in the solid are π··· π stacking between the C6N7 heptazine moieties. The nanocapsules can form monolayers deposited on graphite as observed by atomic force microscopy, which confirms their stability in solution. peerReviewed

In this paper, I examine aspects of the methodological debate that originated in 2010, when the distinguished historian of mathematics Sabetai Unguru reviewed Roshdi Rashed’s edition of the Arabic translation of Apollonius’ Conics. In his review, Unguru criticized what Rashed calls “l’usage instrumental d’une autre mathématique pour commenter une oeuvre ancienne”. I consider this debate very important and will try to place it within in the discussion of the so-called “geometric algebra” that goes back to the seventies, by tracing the contributions of the main figures who took part in it. Amide functionalized aminobisphenolato MoO2 and WO2 complexes: Synthesis, characterization, and alkene epoxidation catalysis

The use of dioxidomolybdenum(vi) and -tungsten(vi) complexes supported by a variety of structurally different tri- and tetradentate aminobisphenolato ligands as pre-catalysts in the epoxidation of alkenes is well established. However, under the widely used standard 1 mol-% catalyst loadings these types of complexes generally show modest activity only. Recently, amide functionalities in the ligand design of various aminomonophenolato MoO2 complexes have been shown to lead to heightened catalytic activity in alkene epoxidation.
