Candida antarctica Lipase A-Based Enantiorecognition of a Highly Strained 4-Dibenzocyclooctynol (DIBO) Used for PET Imaging

The enantiomers of aromatic 4-dibenzocyclooctynol (DIBO), used for radiolabeling and subsequent conjugation of biomolecules to form radioligands for positron emission tomography (PET), were separated by kinetic resolution using lipase A from Candida antarctica (CAL-A). In optimized conditions, (R)-DIBO [(R)-1, ee 95%] and its acetylated (S)-ester [(S)-2, ee 96%] were isolated. In silico docking results explained the ability of CAL-A to differentiate the enantiomers of DIBO and to accommodate various acyl donors. This article discusses the results of a reception study of three environmental films with a focus on emotional reactions and the films’ influence on the respondents’ environmental awareness. The short experimental film Valtakunnat/Realms (Finland, 2018) envisions post-human life, and the potential destruction that the planet is being driven towards. To Teach a Bird to Fly (Finland, 2020), a short documentary fiction film about a woman raising critically endangered birds, imagines a future where the effects of climate change have been reversed. Molybdenum(VI) complexes with a chiral L-alanine bisphenol [O,N,O,O’] ligand : Synthesis, structure, spectroscopic properties and catalytic activity

Dioxidomolybdenum(VI) compound [MoO2Cl2(dmso)2] reacts with a chiral tetradentate O3N-type L-alanine bisphenol ligand precursor (Et3NH)H2Lala to form an oxidochloridomolybdenum(VI) complex [MoOCl(Lala)] (1) as two separable geometric isomers with phenolate groups in cis or trans positions. The single crystal X-ray and NMR analyses of cis- and trans-1 reveal that the complexes are formed of monomeric molecules, in which the ligand has a tetradentate coordination through three oxygen donors and one nitrogen donor. Tässä tutkielmassa on perehdytty kirjallisuudessa raportoituihin orgaanisiin ja metallo-orgaanisiin epälineaarisiin optisiin (NLO) materiaaleihin sekä tutkittu mahdollisuutta valmistaa niitä yksinkertaisista orgaanisista molekyyleistä. Työn kirjallisessa osassa luodaan lyhyt katsaus NLO-teoriaan sekä käydään läpi orgaanisten ja metallo-orgaanisten NLO-yhdisteiden lisäksi erilaisia toisen harmonisen säteilyn (SHG) mittaustekniikoita sekä erilaisia kiteytystekniikoita. Kokeellisessa osuudessa on valmistettu polaarisista molekyyleistä heikoilla vuorovaikutuksilla sitoutuneita yhdisteitä, joista osalla on havaittu olevan SHG-ominaisuuksia.

Oxidovanadium(v) complexes with l-proline-based amino acid phenolates

Abstract l -proline was used to prepare chiral, tridentate amino acid phenol proligands H2L1–4. These proligands react with vanadium precursors VO(acac)2, VOSO4∙5H2O and VO(OPr)3 in methanol to form the corresponding oxidoalkoxidovanadium( v ) complexes 1–4. The complexes crystallize from methanol, and are octahedrally coordinated with a general formula [VO(L1–4)(OMe)(MeOH)]. In solution, however, they adopt several different conformations or isomeric structures depending on the solvent.

A cyclic pseudooctapeptide 2 is described containing 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole moieties. This compound features eight converging hydrogen bond donors along the ring, namely four amide NH and four triazole CH groups, which enable 2 to engage in interactions with anions. While fully deprotonated sulfate anions exhibit only moderate affinity for 2, protonated anions such as dihydrogenpyrophosphate and dihydrogenphosphate anions are strongly bound.
