Anxiety reduction with music and tempo synchronization on magnetic resonance imaging patients

Anxiety and claustrophobic reactions in MRI examinations cause unintentional movements, and such motion artifacts lead to interpretation problems. Furthermore, requested anesthesia makes the process costly. A total of 60 outpatients were examined in the Diagnostic Centre of Pécs, Hungary, to test whether synchronizing recorded music to the gradient pulsation of the MRI device can improve the sedative effect of the music. The patients were assigned to three groups: a nonmusic (control), an original tempo (random) and a synchronized music (synchronous) group. Levulinic acid is considered one of the most important platform chemicals. It is currently produced mainly from lignocellulosic biomasses. However, there are also other abundant biomass materials, which could be used as raw materials for levulinic acid production. In this work, levulinic acid was produced from two novel biomasses in the presence of Brønsted (H2SO4) and Lewis acid (CrCl3·6H2O or AlCl3·6H2O) catalysts. Botanical air filtration is a promising technology for reducing indoor air contaminants, but the underlying mechanisms need better understanding. Here, we made a set of chamber fumigation experiments of up to 16 weeks of duration, to study the filtration efficiencies for seven volatile organic compounds (VOCs; decane, toluene, 2‐ethylhexanol, α‐pinene, octane, benzene, and xylene) and to monitor microbial dynamics in simulated green wall systems. Solar radiation initiates photochemical oxidation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) to dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in inland waters, contributing to their carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella paloviinan kotipolton kieltämistä koskenutta keskustelua suomenkielisessä sanomalehdistössä, liittyen vuoden 1863 säätyvaltiopäiviin, joilla asia oli käsittelyssä. Tutkimusaineisto koostui 38:sta kirjeestä, jotka julkaistiin lehdistössä kymmenen vuoden aikajaksolla ennen ja jälkeen valtiopäivien vuosina 1857–1867. Kirjeet olivat maaseutu- ja vähemmässä määrin kaupunkikirjeenvaihtajien kirjoittamia, ja niiden kirjoittajat edustivat eri säätyjä – talonpoikia, aatelisia, pappeja ja porvareita.
