Limits of Power. Clerical Appointment as Part of Domestic Policy in Sweden after the Reformation, 1560–1611

Abstract This article examines state-church relations in Sweden by analysing clerical appointment processes in the latter part of the 16th century. The aim is to ascertain whether the king of Sweden could appoint pastors independently, and if not, with whom he was compelled to share the power. Earlier studies argue that the power of the king grew due to the reformation. First, this article examines the number of clerical appointments that were made in the period 1560-1611. The Rohingya are one of the most persecuted minorities in the world. Military campaigns conducted by Myanmar against the Rohingya have led to numerous deaths, widespread cases of sexual violence, the destruction of hundreds of villages, and the deportation of more than 700,000 people to Bangladesh. These events have triggered proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC has arguably failed to address the religious dimensions of crimes and facts in some of its previous jurisprudence appropriately. Lähteiden käyttö on olennainen osa mediadiskurssia. Työni käsittelee polyfoniaa eli moniäänisyyttä lehdistödiskurssissa. Tutkin työssäni näiden äänien käyttöä ja journalistin tapaa yhdistää ja erottaa niitä omasta diskurssistaan. Tutkin myös äänien ideologisia merkityksiä ja niiden vaikutuksia tapahtumien representaatioon. Keskityn analysoimaan ilmiötä kolmelta kannalta, jotka ovat teksteissä käytetty sanasto, kerronnan muodot ja representoijat. Tässä kandidaatintutkielmassa tarkastellaan naisiin kohdistuvia asenteita saksalaisessa työelämässä. Yhä edelleen naisten urakehitykseen liittyy ongelmia ja ennakkoluuloja, jotka voivat hidastaa uralla etenemistä tai estää sen täysin. Tällaisia ovat esimerkiksi perinteiset naisten ja miesten roolimallit, sukupuolten välinen palkkaero ja negatiiviset asenteet naispuolisia johtajia kohtaan. Saksassa näitä ongelmia on yritetty vähentää esimerkiksi ottamalla käyttöön naiskiintiöt suurimpien pörssiyritysten johdossa. Pro gradu -tutkielma ”Maahanmuuttajien representaatiot Venäjän sanomalehdistössä” tarkas-telee niitä siirtolaisten representaatioita, jotka ilmenevät venäläisissä mediateksteissä vuoden 2009 alussa. Tutkimuksen päämääränä on selvittää, millaisia representaatioita aineistosta on mahdollista löytää; millaisin kielellisin keinoin siirtolaisia kuvataan, sekä millaisia ideologisia merkityksiä ja suhteita voidaan representaatioista löytää. The Nature of Transannular Interactions in E4N4 and E82+ (E = S, Se)

The electronic structures of tetrachalcogen tetranitrides, E4N4, and octachalcogen dications, E82+, and the nature of their intramolecular E···E interactions (E = S, Se) was studied with high-level theoretical methods. The results reveal that the singlet ground states of both systems have a surprisingly large correlation contribution which functions to weaken and therefore lengthen the cross-ring E–E bond. The observed correlation effects are primarily static in E4N4, whereas in E82+ the dynamic part largely governs the total correlation contribution. Uusitalo and Takala address the food waste problem as a societal phenomenon and examine ethical virtues, values linked to them and food practices in two different time periods: agrarian society (1885–1917) and mature consumer society (2008–2017), in Finland. They use data from newspapers to uncover how ethical principles can underpin understanding of the food waste phenomenon. The study shows how the virtues adopted by food chain actors guide their practices towards sustainable ways of handling excess food. Orgaanisten yhdisteiden kiinteän tilan rakennemääritysmenetelmät

Pro gradu -tutkielmassa käydään läpi 16 yleistä orgaanisten yhdisteiden kiinteän tilan rakennemääritysmenetelmää. Erityistä huomiota on tutkielmassa osoitettu röntgendiffraktiolle, kiinteän tilan NMR-spektroskopialle ja infrapunaspektroskopialle. Erikoistyössä valmistettiin kaksi uutta amidofoldameeriä ja yksi uusi sulfonyylifoldameeri. Valmistettujen yhdisteiden ominaisuuksia tutkittiin ja niitten rakenteet määritettiin. Lisäksi määritettiin yhden muodostetun fluorikompleksin rakenne.

The crystal growth of potassium iodide was controlled by using the neutral organic 1,1′-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)-2,2′-biimidazole (L) ligand as a modifier. The selected modifier allows the preservation of original cubic [K4I4] units and their arrangement into a linear ligand-supported 1D chain. The supported [K4I4] cubes are only slightly distorted compared to the cubes found in pure KI salt. The N–K binding of the ligand to the KI salt, as well as weak I⋯H, N⋯H, and N⋯I interactions, stabilizes the structure to create a unique 1D polymer of neutral potassium iodide ionic salt inside the [K4I4L4]n complex.
