Fascioliasis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Fasciola hepatica and F. gigantica. Emergence of human fascioliasis prompted a worldwide control initiative including a pilot study in several countries. Given the necessity to characterize the fasciolid populations involved, the overall aim of the present research is, first, the phenotypic characterization of faciolid adults and eggs implicated in human endemic areas, where this initiative has been implemented, through a computer image analysis system (CIAS) applied on the basis of standardized measurements. The scratch test method is widely used for adhesion evaluation of thin films and coatings. Usual critical load criteria designed for scratch testing of coatings were not applicable to thin atomic layer deposition (ALD) films on silicon wafers. Thus, the bases for critical load evaluation were established and the critical loads suitable for ALD coating adhesion evaluation on silicon wafers were determined in this paper as LCSi1, LCSi2, LCALD1, and LCALD2, representing the failure points of the silicon substrate and the coating delamination points of the ALD coating. Communication within contemporary families is increasingly and to a significant extent mediated through technological devices and digital applications. Although the everyday reality of many multilingual families is permeated by technology, research on their digital and language practices has been scant. This chapter explores the process of mediatisation with an institutional and bottom-up approach to mediated family communication. For this empirical study two sets of data were collected with the messaging application WhatsApp among six Finnish families, including parents and children. When the data were analysed using grounded theory, four categories of family communication emerged: those of the practical family, the dispersed family, the entertainment-oriented family and the loving family. Tutkimuksemme tavoitteena on selvittää, miten sijaisvanhemmuus vaikuttaa vanhemmuuteen, parisuhteeseen ja perheen biologisiin lapsiin sijaisvanhempien kertomana. Lisäksi olemme kiinnostuneita siitä, vastaako sijaisvanhempien saama PRIDE-valmennus niihin haasteisiin, joita sijaisvanhemmat arjessa kokevat. Vuonna 2012 uudistetun lastensuojelulain mukaan lapsen sijaishuolto on järjestettävä ensisijaisesti perhehoitona.
