Sport has been promoted as a means of increasing the social inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities. Suitable tools for evaluating this claim are not readily available. The aim of this study was to develop a self-report tool for use by people with intellectual disabilities regarding the social inclusion they experience in sport and in the community. A three-phase process was used. In the first phase an item bank of questionnaire items was created and field-tested with 111 participants. The objective is to examine the effects of reminiscence therapy (RT) on total, episodic and semantic autobiographical memory in amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) groups, testing the effects of RT on different stages of autobiographical memory, and its effectiveness at follow-up. A sample composed of 43 aMCI (27 treatments, 16 controls) and 30 AD (15 treatments, 15 controls) subjects were evaluated with the Autobiographical Memory Interview (AMI) test. This case study examines contemporary recreational sports practitioners’ communication practices and social tie formation from the perspective of two lifestyle sports disciplines: climbing and trail running. Online survey results from 301 climbers and trail runners from Finland indicate that computer-mediated communication (CMC) has established its place in recreational lifestyle sports cultures; however, it has not done it at the expense of face-to-face (FtF) communication. Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate predictor variables of race time in female ultra-endurance inliners in the longest inline race in Europe. Methods We investigated the association between anthropometric and training characteristics and race time for 16 female ultra-endurance inline skaters, at the longest inline marathon in Europe, the ‘Inline One-eleven’ over 111 km in Switzerland, using bi- and multivariate analysis. Urheilumenestyksen tarkastelussa painopiste on ollut maittain toteutetussa joukkueiden, seurojen ja yksilöurheilijoiden menestyksen vertailussa. Sen sijaan paikkakuntien urheilumenestystä on tutkimuksissa vertailtu vähemmän. Tutkimuksessa jäljitettiin millaista menestystä varkautelaiset urheilijat saavuttivat 1960-luvulla ja mitkä tekijät vaikuttivat paikalliseen urheilumenestykseen? Varkautelainen urheilumenestys suhteutettiin 11 muuhun vastaavankokoiseen kaupunkiin. Tutkimuksemme sijoittuu historiallis-sosiologisen tapaus- ja rakennetutkimuksen piiriin.
