Thirty years of assiduous preventive archaeology practice in Lorraine have built up a stock of data that can be used for numerous archaeological problems with a spatial focus.For the Bronze Age, as for the other chronological periods, the archaeological occupations discovered during diagnostics and excavations are strongly correlated with current developments (motorways, TGV, housing estates, quarries, etc.). These occupations must be discussed in order to estimate their spatial representativeness. An Analytic Hierarchy Process for The Evaluation of Transport Policies to Reduce Climate Change Impacts

Transport is the sector with the fastest growth of greenhouse gases emissions, both in developed and in developing countries, leading to adverse climate change impacts. As the experts disagree on the occurrence of these impacts, by applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), we have faced the question on how to form transport policies when the experts have different opinions and beliefs. The opinions of experts have been investigated by a means of a survey questionnaire. The results show that tax schemes aiming at promoting environmental-friendly transport mode are the best policy. This incentives public and environmental-friendly transport modes, such as car sharing and car pooling.

In this dissertation, we study the underlying geometry of integrable systems, in particular tausymmetric bi-Hamiltonian hierarchies of evolutionary PDEs and differential-difference equations.First, we explore the close connection between the realms of integrable systems and algebraic geometry by giving a new proof of the Witten conjecture, which constructs the string taufunction of the Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy via intersection theory of the moduli spaces of stable curves with marked points. On bijections vs. unary functions

A set of finite structures is in Binary NP if it can be characterized by existential second order formulas in which second order quantification is over relations of arity 2. In [DLS95] subclasses of Binary NP were considered, in which the second order quantifiers range only over certain classes of relations. It was shown that many of these subclasses coincide and that all of them can be ordered in a three-level linear hierarchy, the levels of which are represented by bijections, successor relations and unary functions respectively.

Reverse inheritance in statically typed object-oriented programming languages

Reverse inheritance is a new class reuse mechanism, an experimental implementation of which we have built for Eiffel. It enables a more natural design approach, factorization of common features (members), insertion of classes into an existing hierarchy etc. Due to its reuse potential in Eiffel we consider exploring its capabilities in other industrial-strength programming languages like C++, Java and C#.

Rational solutions to the KPI equation from particular polynomials

Abstract We construct solutions to the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation (KPI) from particular polynomials. We obtain rational solutions written as a second spatial derivative of a logarithm of a determinant of order n . We obtain with this method an infinite hierarchy of rational solutions to the KPI equation. We give explicitly the expressions of these solutions for the first five orders.
