Towards a general analysis of LHC data within two-Higgs-doublet models

The data accumulated so far confirm the Higgs-like nature of the new boson discovered at the LHC. The Standard Model Higgs hypothesis is compatible with the collider results and no significant deviations from the Standard Model have been observed neither in the flavour sector nor in electroweak precision observables. We update the LHC and Tevatron constraints on CP-conserving two-Higgs-doublet models without tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents. While the relative sign between the top Yukawa and the gauge coupling of the 126 GeV Higgs is found be the same as in the SM, at 90% CL, there is a sign degeneracy in the determination of its bottom and tau Yukawa couplings. Eviction of a 125 GeV “heavy”-Higgs from the MSSM

We prove that the present experimental constraints are already enough to rule out the possibility of the similar to 125 GeV Higgs found at LHC being the second lightest Higgs in a general MSSM context, even with explicit CP violation in the Higgs potential. Contrary to previous studies, we are able to eliminate this possibility analytically, using simple expressions for a relatively small number of observables. We show that the present LHC constraints on the diphoton signal strength, tau tau production through Higgs and BR(B -> X-s gamma) are enough to preclude the possibility of H-2 being the observed Higgs with m(H) similar or equal to 125 GeV within an MSSM context, without leaving room …

How to pin down theCPquantum numbers of a Higgs boson in itsτdecays at the LHC

We investigate how the $CP$ quantum numbers of a neutral Higgs boson or spin-zero resonance $\ensuremath{\Phi}$, produced at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, can be determined in its $\ensuremath{\tau}$-pair decay mode $\ensuremath{\Phi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}$. We use a method [S. Berge and W. Bernreuther, Phys. Lett. B 671, 470 (2009).] based on the distributions of two angles and apply it to the major 1-prong $\ensuremath{\tau}$ decays. Detection of intermediate mass Higgs bosons from spontaneously broken R-parity supersymmetry

The Higgs sector in spontaneously broken R Parity supersymmetry (RPSUSY) shows interesting features that require new search techniques. Both the mass spectrum and production rates may differ from the standard model and minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM) expectations. For some parameter choices, the dominant Higgs boson decay mode can even be invisible, leading to events with large missing transverse momentum carried by superweakly interacting majorons. We study the reaction $pp \ra Z + H + X$, and find that it canlead to detectable events at LHC/SSC for a large region of parameter space.

Search For Light Neutral Higgs Particles Produced In Z0-decays

1990

A search for the neutral Higgs boson in Z0-decays has been performed using the DELPHI detector at the Large Electron Positron collider (LEP) at CERN. We looked for the decay of Z0 into a neutral Higgs particle and a pair of fermions. No events fulfilled the criteria for H0-production. Our results, which are based on an integrated luminosity of 530 nb-1, exclude a minimal Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass in the range 210 MeV/c2 to 14 GeV/c2 at 95% confidence level.

Diboson production in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7~{\rm TeV}$

This review article summarizes results on the production cross section measurements of electroweak boson pairs ($WW$, $WZ$, $ZZ$, $W\gamma$ and $Z\gamma$) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in $pp$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ \TeV. The two general-purpose detectors at the LHC, ATLAS and CMS, recorded an integrated luminosity of $5fb^{-1}$ in 2011, which offered the possibility to study the properties of diboson production to high precision. Search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the decay channel H→ZZ(⁎)→4ℓ with 4.8 fb−1 of pp collision data at s=7 TeV with ATLAS

This Letter presents a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in the decay channel H -> ZZ((*)) -> l(+)l(-)l(-)+l(')-, where l,l' = e or mu, using proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 fb(-1). The four-lepton invariant mass distribution is compared with Standard Model background expectations to derive upper limits on the cross section of a Standard Model Higgs boson with a mass between 110 GeV and 600 GeV. Searching for Invisibly Decaying Higgs Bosons at LEP II

We study the potential of LEP II to unravel the existence of invisibly decaying Higgs bosons, predicted in a wide class of models. We perform a model independent analysis, focusing our attention to the final state topologies exhibiting $b \bar{b}$ or $\ell^+ \ell^-$ ($\ell=\mu$ or $e$) pairs and missing energy. We carefully evaluate the signals and backgrounds, choosing appropriate cuts to enhance the discovery limits. Our results demonstrate that LEP II is capable of discovering such a Higgs boson for a wide range of masses and couplings.

Search for Higgs boson production in oppositely charged dilepton and missing energy events inpp¯collisions ats=1.96  TeV

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson using events with two oppositely charged leptons and large missing transverse energy as expected in $H\rightarrow WW$ decays. The events are selected from data corresponding to 8.6 \ifb\ of integrated luminosity in $p \bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. No significant excess above the standard model background expectation in the Higgs boson mass range this search is sensitive to is observed, and upper limits on the Higgs boson production cross section are derived.
