Understanding Urban Fabric with the OH_FET model based on Social Use, Space and Time
2008
The proposed principle for understanding the urban fabric is based on considering the town as a set of complex objects, taking a systemic approach. The town system used to study the urban fabric over large time spans is composed of three sub-systems relating to historical objects from the level of the excavation to that of the former urban space: function (social use), space (location, surface area and morphology) and time (dating, duration and chronology). The historical object is the analytical unit of the space studied. It is the Cartesian product of the three sets, Social use, Space and Time, from which it stems. On the basis of this process, the Historical Object (OH) is broken down in…

Sharing and disseminating knowledge of advanced spatial modelling. Presentation of an action carried out by the European research group S4 (spatial s…
2006
International audience; The European research group S4 (Spatial simulation for social sciences) gathers researchers in geography as well as in geographical information sciences coming from about 30 European research centres. One action of the European research group S4 consists in sharing and disseminating knowledge of advanced spatial modelling. We propose here to describe several aspects of this action that are of interest considering the objectives of the CAENTI. The first aim of the action is to improve the diffusion of the results of the research in advanced spatial modelling, particularly in direction of regional and urban management and planning. The second aim is the development of …
2021
This historical-legal account brieflycovering 17 years of civil registration activity carried out during the neocolonial period by Municipal Judges and Secretaries, specifically that related to registration of Cuban citizens)becomes considerably relevant to understand and to godeeper into the origins of this complex process, as well asto achieve a re-encounter with the history of those who passed through those times, currently a hidden history in the shadows of Civil Registration offices, but still alive and thus allowing us to find all the beauty that there was in it.

2007
The skeletons, partial skeletons and isolated bones of 200 dogs, 42 horses, eight sheep and two cattle were recovered at the animal necropolis of Vertault, situated south of the fortifi ed rampart belonging to the Gaulish-Roman village on an incompletely examined stretch of land. Because archaeological fi nds were lacking, three 14C analyses were conducted on horse bone material to provide chronological identifi cation, which dated the faunal remains to the 1st century AD. All of the animals are males. Although the horses are fully mature and some of them very old, the dogs and sheep are all young animals. These animals, some of which show clear evidence on the skull of violent death, were …
