We study a semilinear Robin problem driven by the Laplacian plus an indefinite potential. We consider the case where the reaction term f is a Carathéodory function exhibiting linear growth near ±∞. So, we establish the existence of at least two solutions, by using the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction method together with variational tools.

Psychological studies support the existence of an influence of weather on mood. It could affect the behaviour of market traders, as suggested by some authors, and this should be reflected by the stock returns. This paper investigates the possible relation between weather and market index returns in the context of the Spanish market, in order to test the above hypothesis. In the last years, the order induced by the Binary Reflected Gray Code or its generalizations shown an increasing interest. In this note we show that the BRGC order induces a cyclic 2-Gray code on the set of binary necklaces and Lyndon words and a cyclic 3-Gray code on the unordered counterparts. A new enzyme, 1,2-dihydrovomilenine reductase (E.C. 1.3.1), has been detected in Rauvolfia cell suspension cultures. The enzyme specifically converts 2beta( R)-1,2-dihydrovomilenine through an NADPH-dependent reaction into 17-O-acetylnorajmaline, a close biosynthetic precursor of the antiarrhythmic alkaloid ajmaline from Rauvolfia. A five-step purification procedure using SOURCE 30Q chromatography, hydroxyapatite chromatography, 2',5'-ADP Sepharose 4B affinity chromatography and ion exchange chromatography on DEAE Sepharose and Mono Q delivered an approximately 200-fold enriched enzyme in a yield of approximately 6%.
